Peter Updike, #34060619
Could you please edit the info for Peter Updike #34060619 which states that Margaret Howell was his first wife. Nancy Smith was the mother of Aaron and by the 1850 census he is grown and married to Sarah Ann Stewart. In 1850 census for Peter he is married to Margaret and Nancy has passed away already in 1835. So Nancy Smith is the first wife and Margaret is the second. Thank you for your time. What you do helps so much in our family research.

RE: Merrll Preston Higby
Sorry it took me almost a year to get back to you! I also descend from Orlesco Adalbert, then from Wallace Julian, and then from LeRoy Forest. From there I'm not too sure but my paternal Grandfather was Stephen Higby.

The trick I was taught is to use shaving cream. After brushing off any moss or heavy dirt, take a handful of shaving cream and wipe down the front of the stone then use a reinforced piece of cardboard (I use the cover of a 3-ring binder)and drag it up the stone to remove excess. The shaving cream will wash away (with the rain)and not damage the stone.

RE: Merrll Preston Higby
I descend from Merrill Preston Higby, to Wallace Julian Higby, to LeRoy Forest Higby, to Stephen Higby, to John LeRoy Higby (my father).

Thank you so much for creating the memorials for my great-grandparents, Bert and Jessie May Gregory and their parents, William Nixon and Mary Ann Holloman Gregory and William Greene and Ellen Bell Smith Gregory.

Your are welcome for the pictures. I did not see a stone for William in the family plot. I will look for it when I go there again.

RE: William G & Ellen B Gregory
No Problem, Linda! Are you related to the Gregorys? I have Gregorys in my line but I haven't figured out how these two are related to me. My great grandfather Pinson is buried not too far from William and his wife. It's a beautiful little cemetery and someone takes care of it, it's not overgrown at all.

I wanted to get more photos but it started raining while I was there yesterday. I hope to go back soon.

Thank you so much for the picture of my grandpa's grave. I haven't been to Arizona since his funeral, so I've never seen the headstone. Thank you for getting it so quickly.

Margaret and Peter Updike
I made a return trip to the cemetery with a soft brush to clean the stones and chalk to make them clearer. I found these two graves and have posted them on the Big Cedar Cemetery site.
