Hi Janice - I'm going to email you the pics I took today of the monument. I don't know how large each file is so I will send multiple emails. Please consider them yours. I how they will help you.

I did notice that John's children Sophia (#51034796), Sarah (#51034802) and Susan's (#51034798) info appears at the top of the monument though. Would you be so kind to request their photos and I will post the additional photos to their memorials? Then you can cancel your photo request for John's monument.

I don't want to post another pic of his monument to his memorial page since mine will look so similar to the ones that are already there.

Incidentally, I didn't see a marker or military marker for John's father close by. It might be buried or just not there. Sorry I couldn't help further.

Please expect the pics to your email shortly.

Thanx in advance - Jim

RE: J J Graves ~ Grove Hill
You're welcome.

When I fulfill a photo request, I try to get photos of adjoining markers which appear to have a connection ... sometimes saves a trip back to the cemetery later. That being said ... there are some other Graves' at rest in Grove Hill; but I couldn't satisfy myself that they were related. So ... I didn't photograph those markers.

No ... I'm sorry.

I don't know what the significance of that random stone might be. There was nothing inscribed upon it; and it may even have been moved at some point in time to its present location from a nearby gravesite ... or not

I also took a photo of Ira Penrod's marker at the Cemetery. I added it to his memorial page.

RE: Jacob & Sarah Heckathorn
I have recently found out I have some early relatives (Huffman) in the same cemetery. They are buried close to where the Heckathorns are. Glad I could help you out. Steve

RE: Heckathorns
I can't remember the particulars. Would you mind using the edit tab on each memorial (that way I can quickly link to the memorial) so that I can easily transfer them? Please also include your member number.

Corrections made. Let me know if you would like transfers.

I dble checked the grave placement at the library and will make another stab at locating it on Saturday. Combine this with lunch at 'Man Eats Dog' hot dog stand in Elkton and the trip will be perfect!

I found her listed in the cemetery index that the gen society has done for Elkton cemetery, row 9, 2nd grave in going south to north, but couldn't find her headstone. Row nine from the road has four unidentified graves in that position and row nine from the back has someone else. I'm going back to the library to dble check that I got the info correct and will try again.

Ann Heckathorne
I visited the 'Elkton' cemetery this afternoon and found no trace of Ann Heckathorne, altho the index at the library gave her place in the cemetery. What I did find were four unknowns buried where she should have been.

Judging from the picture on her memorial of the cemetery i wonder if I was at the right cemetery. I'm going to try it again in the next few weeks. It's a 40 minute drive for us, but my husband loves the Chicago hot dog stand there, so we will be going again.

I'm going to double check my info at the library before I go.

Don't give up on me!
