Rosie,
Should have read further, sorry. James Smith Neel was the 2nd husband to Martha Ellen 'Mattie' Marshall. Md 19 Mar 1881 in Sumner Co., TN, they had 8 children. Tennie was the 5th child but all I have on her is she was b. 16 Feb 1892 and d. 15 Sep 1919 both in Sumner Co. I don't have where she was buried or any other information on her. I do have a bit on the other children.

Your welcome on my posting.

Dear Rosie,
John Worth Wright was md to Lourenna A. Neel, dau of Aaron Smith Neel & Nancy Campbell. She is buried in Dry Fork Presby. Ch. Cem., Sumner Co., TN. She was b. 1848 and d. 1924. Is she your relative and what line do you descend from. I am also related to the Neel's through a couple lines.

Let me know and also sorry it took me so long to get to you but I just found your note.

RE: Van Ooyen Photos
I did get your email - I was actually in Antigo doing a bit of research! The photos I have in a folder on my desk - I don't have a scanner but I can take a picture of them and upload them so you can see them. Do you use ancestry.com? That's likely where I'll put them, but I can email them to you as well.

Van Ooyen Family
Hi-
I think we talked before about Van Ooyen family from Antigo. I had taken many pictures in the cemetery there and you had suggested some corrections.

Recently I happened upon some photos with links to the Van Ooyen family, mainly Ina Van Ooyen and cousins. If you are interested, I'd be happy to share them with you. You can email me (link on my page)

You are welcome! I don't know if it's possible to be let inside, but I thought a picture of the outside of the building is better than nothing . . .

Sorry I couldn't give more information. The stone is broken and sunken. The entire family plot is overgrown with Iris flowers, so getting a good photo of any of them was a challenge. Hopefully in the spring, we can have a chance to get a better photo of the stones.

Also, I checked the Logan Cemetery Directory while at the cemetery, and they don't have a birth or death date for him. I"m assuming it was a child, with the animal engraving on the stone.

Historic Undertaking
RE: Henry E Burton
Unfortunately, this is a problem I have not been able to find an answer to in the Find A Grave FAQs. Some of the shots post correctly, but many do not. I am posting the images from my computer in the correct orientation and I have even tried rotating the images in the opposite direction; they still post wrong. All the sideways images, however, show their correct orientation if you click on them to see the full size image. Go figure? Sadly, there does not appear to be a "rotate" option on the website. I am contacting Find A Grave to see if they have any suggestions.

P Fernandez & Family
RE: Emily Johnson
Hello RosiePosie,

I spent most of the evening doing some detective work on this Emily Johnson I have listed and I can assure you that she never lived or died in Johnson County, Indiana. She also never had a son named Ralph.

I updated her memorial with all the information I uncovered and her maiden name was Emily Jane Crapp, the daughter of John Crapp and Jane Hicks. She was married to John Orso Johnson.

I must say that I was surprised with the maiden name of Crapp. That was a first for me. I at first thought it was a typo in records but as I dug deeper it turned out to be the real name and spelling.

I always love a challenge and thank you for giving me one today. It is always fun. Good luck on your search for the Emily you are looking for. If I can be of any further help, do not hesitate to ask.

Have a Wonderful Day!

John, Adeline and Nellie Wilkes, not Wilks
The transcribers for the Johnson County Cemetery Index 2000 got it wrong (they were remarkable but a few mistakes/typos will creep in). The headstone photo gives the name as Wilkes as does John's obit. I will tell Linda Talley at the Johnson County Museum of History so she can get a correction into her copies.

I have John's obits on the Johnson County INGenWeb Obit page. Here's the link:
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~injohnso/obits/W/wilkesjo.htm
You will probably need to copy and paste to get the url to work.
Feel free to use any or all of them.

A couple of devoted volunteers and I are transcribing Johnson County obits and posting them to this site. You might want to check now and then to see if we have anything of use for you.
