Midgett Cutrell #46600736
I noticed the question on your photo request. He is not buried in the Cutrell Cemetery where his memorial is located. He was buried in a cemetery a couple of miles away which is now destroyed. About 10 or more years ago some family members recovered his tombstone to restore and intended to place it in this cemetery for safekeeping. I have not been back to see if they actually placed it but might explain why the memorial is here and listing is different from Smith County Cemetery book. Maybe someone will go and see if it is there.

I use genealogybank.com. Luckily, they have the Rockford, IL papers available. A lot of our news was printed through them as well as the locals (Rochelle, Oregon), which aren't available, yet.

I spent extensive time in this cemetery taking photos recently and there was only one B. Allen. I have submitted several edits based on slight differences in the information on the gravestone (photo has been attached) compared to the memorial. If you don't feel this is the same person, let me konw and I'll remove the photo. Thanks!

RE: W. C. Wright
see the bio on William Francis Dedmon #13114285, buried in Union Hill Pres Church Cemetery in Smith County. His mother was Nancy Waters - same Nancy that married Stephen Wright.

Appears to me that Stephen Wright married Francis Deadman/Dedmon (sp?) and Nancy Waters married Bethel Dedmon. Francis died in or after 1852 and Bethel died in or after 1852 - then Stephen married Nancy. I can imagine that Francis and Bethel were possibly kin.
below is the Smith County 1860 census - 3 Dedman children and 4 Wright children. Jane Dedman is 7 in the census, so Bethel was still living in 1852. Francis would be the mother of Wm C Wright and Martha Wright. Nancy Waters is Henry's mother. His # 64363603.

The 1850 Smith County Census with Stephen and Francis should include Wm C since he was born Jan 1849 - odd that it doesn't.
1850 Smith County TN Census
Stephen H Right M 25 Tennessee
Francis Right F 18 Tennessee
Francis Right F 2 Tennessee
**************************************

1860 Smith County TN Census
Henry S Wright M 34 Illinois
Nancy M Wright F 29 Tennessee
Wm C Wright M 10 Tennessee
Wm F Dedman M 11 Tennessee
John F Dedman M 9 Tennessee
Martha Wright F 8 Tennessee
Jane Dedman F 7 Tennessee
Heny Wright M 4 Tennessee
Nancy C Wright F 2 Tennessee

RE: William C Wright, Memorial# 47241753
Hi, In the 'bio' info that I sent earlier - I had mis-typed. Below is an actual copy. Per the bio, W.C. married Nancy Ward after Callie died. Nancy's number is 110805298. She died in 1891. I had also noticed Bettie buried 'next' to W.C. Can't tell from either death cert if they were married and can't find a marriage cert for them either. It would be 'logical' if W.C. married a 3rd time. He was only 42 when Nancy died.

""W. C. Wright, merchant, was born in 1849 in Smith County. He is one of thirteen children of Stephen and Francis E. (Deadman) Wright. The father was born in 1826 in Illinois and came to Smith County when a boy. He is a farmer and stock dealer, owning 375 acres of improved land. He served in the Mexican war under Gen. Taylor. The mother, born in 1828 in Smith County, died in 1853. With ordinary school advantages our subject and his brother began two years of merchandising after which he sold out and became a farmer. In 1877 he again became a merchant, and now successfully carries a stock of $4,500. In 1870 he married Callie, daughter of Joe and Elizabeth Moss, and born in 1850 in Smith County. She died in 1873. Their one child is Francis E.; in 1874 he married Nancy J., daughter of F. M. and Mary J. Ward, and born in 1856 in Smith County. Their six children are Cora A., Willie A., Surrepta I., Dealar L., Grace C. and Robert T. He is a Democrat politically and his wife is a member of the Missionary Baptist Church.""

Annie Lee Bedgood Brown
You are right, this is a complicated situation with many secrets which were hidden for years. As it turns out, Annie was not widowed, at that time, but was divorced. John Gordon Brown (#20318023) had abandoned his first family and begun a second family between 1913 and 1915. None of the children in the second family were aware of the existence of the first family. Many in the first family were aware of the second, however. Our family genealogist finally uncovered the truth and sisters who never knew each other were introduced at the ages of 89 and 90, to their joy! The last remaining brother also got to meet his oldest sister (Lillie Mae) before she passed. So we are working to realign the links so that future generations can see the whole picture! Thank you for your help! - Melba & John

RE: Mary Elizabeth Fry Briggs Memorial# 11079246
I added Jacob as the father of my 3rd g-grandmother based on several ancestry.com family trees. You have raised a good point about sources, of which I'm now finding conflicting info, including a possible Henry Fry, of Rowan Co. Any added info you might have would be appreciated, too. Thank you for contacting me.

Child of Benjamin Smith Frye
Hi Kelly,

I see you have neglected a child of Benjamin Smith Frye. Per the 1870 census, Benjamin and his then wife Mary Elizabeth (Hunt) had the following children: Martha A, Thomas A and Henry. Henry Clay Frye has a Find A Grave Memorial: # 28968776
(Yes I know, another Henry Fry/e). Henry's son Ernest Clay Frye was my mother's father.

Neat map
Hi, Kelly. Found a nifty 1863 topo sketch of a short section of Nolensville Rd (Nashville) with the James Rains cemetery marked, the Tusculum church and cemetery north, and the Barnes folks to the south. No one else we were looking for, though. If you're interested, just drop me an email and I'll send the link. --Harriet

Hi Kelly, did you create this cemetery? If so, could you alter the map to 32.825217, -82.507706? It's off by a good ways. I drove by it using the new phone app and I was very confused! If you didn't create it, please ignore! thanks, Andy

Elizabeth Bailey's Grave
Hey,
I searched the Fry Cemetery over and made several photos in 2009, and I believe this crypt grave, that has sunken down into the ground over the years is Elizabeth's. It is next to her son, John
Fry's above ground crypt grave. I re-visited the cemetery just last year, and it has now become so covered with grass that it is barely visible.

The only other person that it possibly could be is John's brother, Henry. I have found no record stating his burial place
