RE: Harry Tolles
You are most welcome. Harry was so high up and his Plaque?? was so dark, I was not able to get a very good pic. I did see he did pass in 1897. The only way to get a better pic, would be to get on a ladder and that's not for me! lol (afraid of heights!)

Carla, you're quite welcome!
Google something like "san Francisco reburials" and you'll see a bunch of stories about that massive effort ... very interesting.

Updyke ~ Forrest Lawn, Omaha, NE
Dear phonelady,

There were a bunch of Updyke family members within the same plot. I posted an area photo of the plot, with the names in each position. Some of the other names were listed under Updike (all the markers say Updyke). I requested edits for dates/GPS, but did not request any name changes. I'll leave that up to family members to resolve. Just wanted to let you know the status.

Let me know if you need anything else.

You are more than welcome. I will continue to keep an eye out for her when I go to that cemetery, but like you, I think her stone is either no longer visible or missing for whatever reason (i.e. storm damage, human clumsiness ect.)

RE: Edward Brown
I am related through Edward Brown's wife, Juliette Griffin. She was a niece of my Great-great-great grandmother Julietta Loriana Griffin who married Albert S. Luke (my g-g-g-grandfather).

I have had some descendants of James Griffin, Ed's father-in-law, contact me concerning work on the Griffins. In order to figure out relationships, and avoid more confusion, I had a bunch of people linked.

Are you related on the Griffin side also? It does get hard to figure out who is who when cousins marry cousins with the same last name, and use the same family names again and again.

Thanks for making the connections! If I can be of any help, I am willing. I would really like to find some obituaries for these people.

My message is, hopefully, self-explanatory in the one I left for Henry Marsh on 6/7/14. I haven't rec'd a reply from him yet ..... if you'd like the memorial and inscription for that indigent section A uploaded to Arthur's memorial page, just let me know & I can do it from home.

I have contacted a few people in the county about maintaining that cemetery. Some of us are also considering a workday next April, depending on what I hear back. Most of us are 3+ hours away, so it is not an easy task. Might you be able to work?

Also, how are Ezra & Laura Griffin your relatives? They are mine also.

Hi, Carla.

You have photos of Ella Fern Acre -- the daughter of Edward and Grace Acre of Holt, Michigan? Yes indeed I would love to have them and post them on Ella's findagrave page. I am also seeking any photo of Ella's sister Ivah, who died while a college student during the flu epidemic of 1918. Any photos you have of the Acre family or their relatives would be more than appreciated. You can e-mail them to me as jpgs at I very much appreciate any help you can be.

RE: David Brown
Hi Carla,

I do believe he is buried here in this cemetery, as he did have a headstone back when the Hale Cemetery transcriptions were done back in the early 1930's or so. However, there doesn't seem to be a marker there anymore. This is a very tiny cemetery and most of the headstones are readable but there are a few that are broken or gone. I have photographed every stone in the cemetery and have looked a number of times for him. Sorry not to have better news!

RE: Edwin Bunn
So has this person passed away? There is a memorial site but no dates of death for either Edwin or his wife. This memorial site should be updated??
