Forgot to mention the Martha Thornton that married a Berry. I don't know anything about her other than she married Abraham Berry, I saw a marriage record for the marriage and she was on the 1850 Fayette County census as Abe's wife. Have always wanted to know what happened to her and who her parents are.

RE: Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church
Just arrived home and read your message. Mt. Pleasant Road in Fayette county changes to Rossville Rd. in Marshall Co. and the church and cemetery will be not very far north of the counties line on the west side, small white church if it is still standing. I am trying to get in touch with cousins that can give me more info.

RE: Pleasant Hill Cemetery
Thanks so much for your kind offer. I don't believe you would have any success though. I know that when my relatives died they didn't have the money for headstones. I talked to some of the people at the cemetery and they have done one of those scans of the ground and they find unmarked graves but they have no records. I saw the Plat book and there are just whole missing squares where there is no known name. The church that was associated with it was across the street from it and was torn down in the 30's.
I wonder if the state has copies of things like that? There are relatives of mine there with markers however these are ones I don't know.
Any person with the last name Lowe is kin to me.
I'm looking for Jacqueline Elizebeth Pittman, Betty Mayfield Lowe and John Mayfield. The Lowe family gave the land for the church and cememtery so I assume Betty's husband is buried there also. I don't know his first name.
Sorry I'm not making much sense. Thanks for the offer. I did notice that there is no record of Pleasant Hill Community Cemetery listed Find a Grave.

RE: Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church
Oh, thank you so much Nikki. Knowing you live in DeSoto County my relative Teri Camp who you just posted some pics for was sharing with me she would like to find the grave of one of you grandmother's daughters who died at an early age. The DC shows her burial in Pleasant Hill, MS and Teri was telling me she was buried at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Olive Branch, but I will tell her to get in touch with you and share what she knows. Maybe you can make both stops the same day.

Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church
Nikki, I am so glad I found you. I noticed you have taken pictures in Marshall Co MS and If you are ever on Pleasant Grove Road in Fayette County TN just north of the Marshall County MS line and on the west side of the road there is a little white church called Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church with a small cemetery on the south side of church. Would you be so kind to take a picture of the church and about 2 1/2 miles north of the church on the east side of the road there use to be a sign for the church...would love to have a pic of the sign also. If you by chance are able to go that way and take the pics would like for you to add them to my family that is buried in that cemetery. You can find the memorials on my list and the name to look for is BERRY and other names that I have in that cemetery. I don't expect you to make a special trip. Thank you, Peggy

Actually it was not a duplicate. I checked before I added it. I deleted the obit. I don't know what I was thinking. I added a relative's on that day and added the other obits as well. Memphis has so many obit collectors that I never waste my time adding obits from Memphis. It seems there is a race on to see who has the most obits. My focus is on going to cemeteries and abstracting the headstones and adding the records. This obit was added 3 times.

Thank you for the cemetery info change on Jessica I really appreciate it, and I very much appreciate you taking your time to go out and get a headstone pic.

RE: Rex williams
No I live near Hattiesburg MS. I have come across a couple of obituaries where the funeral service would be in Mississippi or Alabama and then they were buried in Tennessee, but the obituary didn't tell that. I usually figure it out when I can't find the cemetery listed for that state but just so happened that this one was so I thought maybe I had it right.
I am going to send you the transfer just as soon as I get this message sent. Then you can add whatever personal stuff on there that you or the family would like.

Thanks for the correction on the cemetery. The obituary didn't specify the exact location of the cemetery but I have changed it to the right one.
No, I am not related to him (at least not that I know of anyway). I put alot of these on here that I get from obituaries from all over the country.
I will be happy to transfer him to you if you are a friend of the family. I don't mind at all. Or I can keep it either way is fine with me. Let me know.

RE: Boswell's
I agree that we are related. Supposedly John Boswell was the son of Edward Boswell, I have a copy of Edward Boswell's Will, I wondering if Edward was a Brother making our Boswell's Cousins. I am thinking that is probably the key.
WE don't know who Edward Boswell's parents were but we know he was in Orange Co, NC.

RE: Boswell's in Marshall County, Miss
What is your Boswell connection.. perhaps I can help. My Boswell line is to Caswell Co, NC, through John Boswell and Kitty Simpson, son of
Edward Boswell of Orange Co, NC.
The eldest son of John and Kitty Boswell, was my great great grandfather John Thomas Boswell Whom married Sarah Simpson and Elizabeth Pully

Thank you so much for the photo of Tom's gravesite. It means a lot to be able to "visit" the site online and to include it in our Family Tree Maker to be passed along to future generations.

God bless you,

More Boswells
I found your Thomas Boswell in Alamance Memorial and he was surrounded by quite a few other Boswells so I got their pictures as well. Look over them and let me know if you have more info to add or if you want me to transfer them.

RE: Carrington Cemetery-Marshall County, Mississippi
Yes, my Great Grandmother was Frances Ann Carrington, daughter of Nathaniel Robert Carrington. He's buried in the cemetery in Cayce, but she is in the Salem ARP Cemetery in Atoka, TN.

There are more tombstones in the Carrington Cemetery. I didn't have much time the day that I was there and the cemetery is pretty overgrown, so it would take some work to clear out the underbrush. Unfortunately, I do not live nearby.

Woodlawn Cemetery - El Dorado, AR

This particular grave is one that I noticed, due to the huge heaps of flowers left, just after burial, and have continued to photograph - through the progression of additions/changes that the survivors have created, over the last couple of years.

I am not related, per se, as is the case with most of the entries I have contributed to F A G!

Hope this satisfies your curiosity?
