|Samantha||Donald Alfred Bleyle|
Please delete one of the memorials you made for Donald. You have on in a cemetery and you have one as "burial unknown".

I have looked twice for Donald, and there is no marker for him. He is a veteran and it may be that there has not been a marker placed for him. My only suggestion to you is to find out who was to place a stone or marker for him.

|Goldrush||Luigi Baptista Malatesta|
Dawn: There are two memorials for him on Find A Grave, the one you put up and another placing him in Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma. Since neither of the memorials have a grave marker to prove his burial, I was wondering how you figured out he is in the Italian Cemetery? I asked the same thing of the other person who put up a memorial, but got no answer.
He was originally buried in SF and must have been moved to Colma after SF closed down all their cemeteries.
Whichever cemetery Luigi is in, then his son Attilio must surely also be there with him since they died together and were buried together. And his wife Antoinetta Figaro also was to be buried with her husband and son when she died in Calaveras Co. so you would expect them to be together and she does have a grave marker.

|KEHAHN||Merna Margaret Wilkes Van Druten|
Merna's grandfather, Frederick Wilkes, and my g g grandmother, Frances E Wilkes Day, were siblings. I was wondering if you might have any information on Merna (death, burial, etc).
Thank you for any assistance.

Thanks, Dawn. I have added the link to his father.
For future reference, you can change the cemetery for an existing Find A Grave entry by clicking "Edit" next to "Burial:" and then following the prompts.
At one time, the name of the Old Iowa Hill Cemetery was something else, which led people to believe that there was just one cemetery. Your entry was probably created at that time. Since then I have had Find A Grave fix the name and I added some clarifying text to the description. You're not the only person that got confused, but it wasn't your fault!

The grave location as listed in the cemetery records for Paul Urban is Sec: 14 1/2, Tier: 5, Grave 27. In the photo I posted this is between the stone at the base of the tree, grave 26, and the small cross, grave 30.

|Ron Kinney||RE: Joseph Henry Illig|
Hi Dawn, You're welcome, glad to help. I do have several other photos from Holy Cross of the Illig family. If you need any of the following just put in the requests. Then please notify me that you put in the requests because Find a Grave won't notify me of them because Holy Cross is out of my range.
Christina, Mildred, Christopher, Barbara, Kathryn, John, Peter, Lena, Robert and Richard.
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely, Ron Kinney

I added the photo to Sarah's memorial, it also shows the other name...now that I re-looked at the name on the stone, weird, AH(?)RAH J.
I think that is why I thought it was sarah, just spelled differently..and no S. Take a look, you will see what I mean..
Added by absintheminded on Oct 08, 2010 10:36 AM
Also on the right side of Henry's stone is two names listed, that I have a photo of if you want it;
Sarah J. wife of P. Vaughan
died Sept 16, 1861
aged 37 yrs
S.J & E.R.Horn
Sept 5, 1872
aged 2 yrs 5m
Let me know if you want the photo, set up a memorial and request a photo or I can add it to a memorial already set up.

It appears Amelia is also unmarked. I added an area photo to her memorial page. Based on a cemetery map and marked graves - she would be in the area between these 2 stones.
