I never knew where my fathers ashes were buried due to family estrangement. He donated his body to medical research and that was the last information I received. God works in mysterious ways. Thank you for making the web page.

The lady that keeps the official cemetery burial records and I went through the entire cemetery and checked the tombstones against the records. Some stones are hard to read so we made the memorial page in Find A Grave to match the records, thus the "Mrs. Henry Naylor". We also formulated a list of people in the burial records that do not have a tombstone. I have a copy of the list of names without tombstones. I checked for Eve Shelly and there are no Shelly's listed at all in the cemetery.
Henry Naylor and Mrs. Henry Naylor (As I had her listed in Find A Grave as that is how she is listed in the cemetery records) are both in Section 11, Lot 80. Are you certain the Mrs. Henry Naylor is Catherine Shelly Naylor? I see you have changed the name on the memorial page.
Katie Naylor is in Section 2, Lot 20 along with Margaret Naylor, Wilbur Naylor and Elias Wilson Naylor. You can see photos of her tombstone on Find A Grave.

Thank you for such a quick response. I had a feeling that the headstone in NJ was engraved after her burial in MS, but now I know for certain. Many thanks for the verification.

I have a question regarding the memorial you created for Agnes Stock (Memorial# 41242600), mother of Brother Leon Stock. Can you tell me if she is actually buried in Brothers Cemetery? The reason I ask is that she is also listed as being buried with her husband, George Stock, in New Jersey, (Memorial# 117331929). Their headstone includes both of their names. Many thanks for your help.

Thank you for your correction. He was a wonderful person. I have most of his genealogy books. His brother Darnell Lepre is a very good friend of mine. Keep up the good work.

Any information on Peter would be appreciated and useful as well. When and where he passed, where he is buried, etc.

|Jennifer Jordan||Emma Lou|
My name is Jennifer LaFollette. My Grandmother is Josephine Walker (maiden name Werneth or Henry). I believe she contacted you many years ago when she was attempting to put together some genealogy research. I picked up the "genealogy bug" years ago and every now and then in between work and college I try to fill in the gaps.
I saw the message left a few months ago here on your page by Sheila regarding Emma Lou and I'm trying to see whether you or Sheila have any additional information. Emma Lou would have been my great grandmother, Josephine's mother. Emma Lou was initially either married to or "involved with" a Henry (Robert I believe), but as I understand it she became pregnant with my Grandma after having an affair with Peter Werneth. Emma Lou eventually married Peter. My Grandma knew them both very vaguely, but was raised by Emma's friend Florence Gray.
Unfortunately it's been very difficult trying to find out any information about Emma, so I was intrigued when I saw Sheila's post on here.
Any information that either of you may have would be greatly appreciated!

What can you tell me about Peter Werneth who is buried in the Magnolia Cemetery? I am looking for information on a possible wife Emma Lou Frier who was born around 1918. He was considerably older and she died one year after him. Would love to chat.

|Barbara Carroll||RE: Teresa & Sophia Werneth|
Sort of like New Orleans where they shake the bones down to mingle with your ancestors. I always thought that was a nice idea and a much more efficient use of space. Thanks for your reply. I'll try the Mobile Courthouse, but they didn't start keeping death records until 1905, so wish me luck. Bobbye

|Barbara Carroll||Teresa & Sophia Werneth|
Teresa is my second great grandmother and Sophia, my third. She is buried in Magnolia Cemetery, but her tombstones have been moved on top of her husband's, William Henry Williams. As you know, Magnolia is sinking. Her daughter, Sophia Williams, is buried in the same plot, right across the street from the Werneth plot.
I have never been sure of Sophia's maiden name. I have seen both Rhodes and Roth(e). Do you have any idea who her parents were, did they immigrate with her, when did she come over? I would apprectiate any information you might have. I, too, have been confused by the two death dates, but assume that it was because she died in Pensacola and had to be shipped back to Mobile. She was living with her daughter, Amalie Kelly, at the time of her death, my grandmother's "Aunt Molly". Bobbye Olney Carroll

|Tim Childree||Theresa Werneth Williams|
I am working on Magnolia Cemetery in Mobile and I recently added a memorial for Theresa A. Werneth Williams (FG# 96211377), born 1851, died 1904, wife of William Henry Williams, married 1871 in Mobile. She was living with Martin & Sophia Werneth in Mobile in the 1860 census. I linked her to them as her parents. I was hoping you could confirm this relationship. Also, since you have most or all of the Werneth memorials in Magnolia Cemetery, I wanted to offer to transfer her memorial to you, especially if she is part of your family.
