RE: Mt Zion Cemetery
I did almost all of JOnesboro City, and almost all of Mt Zion. The problem, I think is that there are very many who don't have markers. There is a custodian for the Jonesboro City cemetery, who has a list of all of the graves. If you can't find him, ask Ed Elstan. You can find him in my friends. He has spoken to the custodian before. I know that Mt Zion has so many unmarked graves but I don't know if they have a list at the church or not. Do you live in Clayton Co.?

RE: Edison marker
Thank you Marie for your perseverance. A lot of these big private cemeteries are getting where they do not want to cooperate with findagrave volunteers. It is a shame but it is reasons like this that I will NOT be buried in one of them under any circumstances. Thank you for your efforts.

Douglas G. Eidson

I got the information that Douglas G. Eidson was buried in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens from the Veterans Administration. Someone ordered a military marker for Mr. Eidson and told the VA it would be placed in Forest Hills Cemetery. And the Military marker was granted. Proof of this can be found here:

That should take you to his information. If it doesn't just do a people search for Douglas Eidson. There is only one Douglas Eidson in the VA system.

RE: Lunsford
I'm not going to use any cleaning solution. I should have said I'm taking a stiff brush to scrape the red dirt that is caked around the edges. I'm really surprised at this cemetery. I would thought they would maintain their foot markers. The cemetery where I bought my plot maintains the foot markers. They have them cleaned, they replace the bronze vase if it gets stolen and should the lawn mower damage it, they fix or replace it. I saw so many bronze vases gone at Gaston Memorial Park. I'm surprised Orbie and Mary's are still on their graves because the chains are gone.

It has been a pleasure conversing with you and if there is any thing else you need in this part of the country don't hesitate to let me know. I hope you find everyone you are looking for in this family.

Take care, Sue

RE: Lunsfords background
They are in the cemetery! Pictures have been added to their memorials. Orbie's marker needs a cleaning. Next time I'm out there I'm taking something to clean the dirt from Orbie's marker. After I do that, I will take another picture and I'm going to take another one of hers also. I did not notice that little streamer blocking the L in Lunsford.

This cemetery uses foot markers. They are in section 3 of the Singing Tower. They were real easy to find since they are at the side walk that runs through the Singing Tower. Wonder why they did separate markers.

Someone has put flowers on their graves. From the way the flowers look, I would say they were placed there around Easter.

RE: Lunsfords' Obits
You know, I'm starting to feel connected to the Lunsford's. Do you know what brought them to North Carolina? I noticed that she was a doctor's daughter. The address given when she died in their era was not a cheap place to live. Not now, but back then, if you lived on Lynhurst, you had money.

RE: Mary A. Lunsford grave?
Hi Miss Marie. I went to Gastonia today to Gaston Memorial Park. The gentleman that I spoke with had me leave my list of people buried there (I had some people I've been looking for also). I'm going back Thursday to pick up the list with the locations of their graves. I will take pictures for you. I also went to the library and made copies of Orbie and Mary's obituaries. I went ahead and made them memorials. I put them in Gaston Memorial Park. If they are not there, I will remove them. This is their memorial numbers. Do the same thing that you did to see the daughters memorial with her obituary. I put their obituaries on their memorial.
Orbie's # 89453482
Mary's # 89456356
Let me know if you have trouble getting to them.
Orbie's birth year is different from what you have and you will notice some spelling differences from one obituary to the other one.

RE: Mary A. Lunsford grave?
Now Marie....I'm going to tell you how to use that number I sent you. You need to read her obit that I put on it. It has plenty of names in it. They might be of use to you or they might not. Just do the following:

On the main page of Find A Grave, where you sign in and out, click on "Search 79 Million Grave Records".

When that page opens up, down close to the bottom, there is a block that says, "Memorial #:"
Put your cursor inside that box and click; type the memorial number I sent you. Click "Search" at the bottom of the page and that will open her memorial.

You can do it. I promise you can!

Let me know how it goes.

RE: Mary A. Lunsford grave?
I did find an obituary for a daughter, Eunice Lunsford Teal. I entered Eunice in Find A Grave. Her memorial number is 89184312. If you want, I will transfer her to you and I will work on the people that you did send me.

RE: Mary A. Lunsford grave?
Hi Marie. Send me a list with the birth and death dates, if you know them, and I'll will see what I can come up with. I'm going to Gaston Memorial Park to find where some of my relatives are buried and I'll inquire about yours.
