Clarence Stowers
The infant is buried in an 8 grave plot which was purchased by an Edward Liston. There's nothing in the records to indicate in which grave the infant is buried. Someone forgot to indicate it on the cemetery map. Plot location is 12-3-A. I and cemetery person walked that area and there are markers but none are for a Stowers or even a Liston. Even if one wanted to place a marker, it would be expensive to excavate all 8 grave sites (or as many as necessary)to determine in which the child is buried. Sorry to give you this information. The only certainty is that the child is buried in Oakmont-Verona but the exact loaction cannot be determined.

You have a photo request for James in this cemetery. There is no headstone for him. I just finished photographing everything there. Are you related to him? If so, we're cousins.

I am distantly related to some Weatherlys through my husband's side of the family, but the name Collingwood doesn't sound familiar with any of my Weatherlys. There's a lot of Weatherly information I still am not aware of, as this family hadn't been researched for well by the husband's side of the family. So for me, it's a slow process on this Weatherly family tree. Sorry I couldn't be any more helpful.

Transferred to you.

Where is McMillen Cemetary in Venango County? I have done a search in Google and came up empty. Can you give me directions?

Alice Armstrong
Hello. I am going to fulfill your photo request with a photo of the area, only. There was no marker in that lot number for anyone named Armstrong. But I will follow up next week with a call to the cemetery office to see if the location is correct. One digit off, and it could be in a completely different area.

I will let you know what I find out, and if necessary, retake the photo.

Best Regards,

Collingwood cemetery
Hi Sharon
Can I ask where this cemetery is at? I will need directions. I know of one cemetery in Rockland and I didn't think the name was Collingwood.
I have a cousin living in Rockland "Tom Collingwood" Maybe related to you.

RE: John McMillen
Sharon, I am looking for the father of James McMillen (1810 PA-1878 KS). James married Eliabeth Mitchell and then Mary Jane Stover. It is possible James had a brother Samuel. I have never found any clues to his father except that he was born in PA. James is from the McMillen's in the lumber business in Venango and Clarion counties.

Thanks for the reply,

John McMillen
Are you a descendant of John McMillen? I was wondering if you might have any information on his children.

Thank you,

Hi Sharon,
I am not related. I have no problem transferring the memorial. If you don't mind, go thru the memorial and ask for the transfer, it's easier.

You may wish to think of a memorial page for Hanna Gray as well.
I took one pic to show the place of the matker in relation to the statue for the Civil War Soldiers and a close up of the GAR flag holder.
My salute to Mr. Stowers.

Hi Sharon
I don't have a stone for this person. I updated that entire cemetery by photographing every stone. I have 2 Collingwoods but none with her name. Let me know what you think.

I checked Fry Hill Cemetery for Ray but found no gravestone for him. That part of the cemetery is quite old and many stones are down, missing or unreadable. Where he, and several others, are supposed to be buried is now just a very large bare area. Sorry!
