RE: George W Johnson Grave
I didn't get an earlier message.

But the name and address of the funeral home and cemetery you left as a message on my page tells me, again, that you have your entry, 79615107 in the wrong cemetery.

The obituary on your entry states Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home And Cemetery, Winkenhofer Chapel, 2000 Cobb Pkwy South, Marietta, GA.

that would be THIS cemetery:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=34122&CScn=georgia+memorial+park&CScntry=4&CSst=12&CScnty=415&

You have your entry in a cemetery called ARLINGTON MEMORIAL PARK ESTATES which only has 6 entries in it total; it does not exist, it's a dupe of Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs.

I just looked to see if there was an entry for him in the correct cemetery, and there is one there already by another contributor, and to which you have already uploaded 3 photos to on August 8 2013. It is here:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=johnson&GSfn=george&GSiman=1&GScid=34122&GRid=75064401&
Created by: F Chambers
Record added: Aug 17, 2011
Find A Grave Memorial# 75064401

So because there is already an entry for him in the correct cemetery, please DELETE the one you have for him in ARLINGTON Memorial Park Estates. There is no need to move it. You can upload the grave photo you have on that duplicate to 75064401 and send the parental links to F. Chambers so they can link their memorial to the parents.

Thanks, Karyn

RE: Joshua Davis
I am so glad to hear from you. Please keep the site and blessings to you and your family. Joshua is my great-great-great-great grandfather. I am trying to keep everything alive for future generations - that is my only thought. You are accomplishing that better than I probably could.

Right now, I am working for the DAR. (Just started really.) I am trying to prove the lineage of William to reinstate him with the DAR Service Records.

Someone said his service belonged to another - so I am trying to prove his connection with the Continental Army. If you ever see any proof or documents that might prove where William lived between 1776-1783 or can prove his military record, please keep me in mind. I want this lineage to be open for future generations that may wish to have Patriotic lines.

I am relatively sure that they were not in Brunswick Co., VA after their marriage and the William Davis' that I have tracked from Mecklenburg Co., VA were not the correct ones either - especiall Capt Davis (he was another line). So, I have been looking into NC where his brother Joshua and brother in law Drury Ledbetter.

I know both of them and the Harris family were in Wilkes Co GA as well. So, perhaps NC is the place to look. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Joshua Davis
I am interested to know if you are related to Joshua Davis and his wife Martha and his parents - William and Agnes Davis.

If they were posted as a genealogy project, I would like to know if you would be interested in transfering this to my management.

If they are relatives - God Bless and I hope you continue to keep up the site for all of us.

Thanks and look foward to hearing from you.

Jordan Holcombe, SAR Patriot #P-183360, your Find A Grave Memorial# 31624685
I am Dennis Boyer, Secretary, Arkansas Society, National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. I am a volunteer working on updates of the SAR Patriot Index, now available on line at http://patriot.sar.org. Jordan Holcombe is among my assignees, and I have located your photo at his memorial. We anticipate eventually being able to include photos, where available, with the Patriot's listing, so I am asking your permission to download and prepare for posting your photo.

Your photos include an SAR dedication ceremony. Could you also provide me the date of the ceremony for his record?

Thanks for your good work.

RE: Winner Family Tree
Eleanor,

I would love to make contact with any of my Uncle Leslie's descendants... My father had his business right beside Leslie in Tin City, NC and after Leslie's wife died, the 4 kids were divided up and each seemed to go their seperate ways, for good and not so good, I'm told. I visit her gravesite in Tin City several times a year.. I knew several of his children thru the years and the daughter, 'Boots', lived right here in Rocky Mount until she died several years ago.. I am in contact with her family locally.
Again, if you can relay my name and email to your party, I would love to hear from them.

YOU certainly have my permission to use any of the materials I have posted. As in all research, I am prone to making mistakes and always looking for coorections and addtions.

Thank you,
Fred

Eleanor,
Thank you very much....
I'm not exactly sure which files you are referring to, but I have been working on my family and extended families for some 40 years and LOVE the 'hobby'.
Over the last year or more, I have been documenting all the gravesites WITH headstone photos of many of my family members.... and it is a never ending job....
Please let me know which 'files' you wish to reference to Ancestry.com... I am a member and use their services frequently.
Sincerely,
Fred Winner

Believe the death date is incorrect. Maybe it is 1944. Her last child was born in 1891.
