I created a memorial for this lady (also buried in Waterloo Cemetery) and I wondered if you knew if she was a sister to George Bryan (whose obit. you posted). I see she is only 3 years older than George and like George, was born in Fairfield Co., OH.

|Little Fir||A Little More About George Bryan|
I believe one reason I thought this George Bryan was my distant uncle (and the man who died in 1902, even if the stone says otherwise), is I believe there is a Crowl Infant buried quite near George and his sons. The baby was John Ralph Crowl who died in 1899 (a few years before George) and was the son of George's step-daughter-Anna (Merrill) Crowl. I guess I thought George owned a number of plots and he and maybe different ones of his family and step-family could be buried there as needed.
This is what my family history says about George's 2nd wife, Caroline. It might shed some light on where she might be buried. Her first husband (Horace Merrill) was born Aug. 5, 1839, died at Edgerton, OH, May 17, 1864. (I don't know if that is where he is buried or not. If so there could be a possibility she was buried there, also.) The other information I have about George's wife Caroline is that apparently she lived for years after he died. According to my family history information, she was still living (1935) at the age of 92 with her daughter (Anna (Merrill) Crowl) in Traverse City, MI. So it is possible George's second wife Caroline might have been buried in MI, I guess.
As for George's yougest daughter, Della, I was mistakened. She apparently does not have a findagrave memorial but both of her husbands do.

I was confused about that deathdate (on the stone) also as I was trying to identify this man as my 2nd great grand uncle (by his second marriage). My family history book gives the 1902 deathdate which corresponds with the obituary you posted. I so appreciate your doing that. That helps me believe this really is the George Bryan I thought it was. His second wife, Caroline (Nodine) Merrill was my great great grandmother's half-sister. Her father was Henry Nodine, buried in Ridge Cemetery (with his second wife that was Caroline's mother) and I would love to know where Caroline was buried so I could link her to the memorial I created for her father. It seems as though both of George's wives should be buried in that county (DeKalb), but as you say, "Where?" I will link the 2 sons buried beside him to his memorial. I believe his youngest daughter has a findagrave memorial, also. I had never seen a picture of George (to my knowledge) and I had not seen the obituary either. Thank You and God Bless You!!

Looking for someone with a photo of this Mr. Stinger who was a farmer that sold his produce by driving around Warsaw and Winona Lake IN in his old truck, ringing a bell. I would like to have a picture to put in a history I am writing of my family cottage in Winona Lake.
Thank you, Ann

Hi Sheryl!! Wow thank you sooo much for the picture of him!! I have a typed copy of the civil war diary that he kept (evidently you have the real thing!). Was the picture that you have with the diary? So interested in how you got it. I used to live right next to the battlefield (Spotsylvania) where he was captured. Thanks for the info!!!
