Lois Watkins
Parker/Powell/Watkins Genealogy
Hi Philip
My husband is a descendant of the Watkins family and his great
grandfather's one brother was Burton(Berton, B.B.)Watkins who's one son
was Lewis(Louis)B Watkins whose wife was Edna Caladonia Keeton
Powell(?)Watkins. In the 1900 Dalton, Whitfield, Georgia US Census
daughter Ida B Watkins(Powell?)is age 16 and Lewis & Edna were married in
1885 only 15 years and Ida appears to have been born Nov 1883(?). Then
son John W Watkins(Powell?)is age 8 born Mar 1892. I have followed Ida
and brother John and their mother Edna (sometimes Watkins and sometimes
Powell(?) Ida married Horace R Parker but the time line puzzles me as Ida
16 and John 8, if both are Powells doesn't make sense with Watkins
children Izah Y and Maggie in between the Powell children in the 1900
Census mentioned above. The Parker/Goehle/Kissel Family Tree has me
confused as to when Edna was married to a Powell then Lewis Watkins then
possibly a Powell later. Please help me out. From Find a Grave, Horace R
Parker appears to be your great grandfather and in the 1930 Cincinnati,
Hamilton, Ohio US Census John Powell(born 1892)& wife Myrtle have his
mother Edna Powell(Watkins?) living with them along with Ida & Horace's
son Jerrell. I would appreciate hearing from you and I enjoy all of your
research. Thank you. Lois Watkins loisw@ruralnetwork.net

Tennessee State Marriages 1780-2002 shows a Mattie Keeton and spouse John
Powell married 29 Sep 1882 in Perry County. Is Mattie, in fact, Edna
Caldonia Keeton?

RE: Edna Caldonia Keeton Watkins
If I transfer her memorial over to you can you help me out on where her siblings are and even her parents? Her brother Ambers Keeton was my great great grandfather..And I cannot even find him or know where he is buried. Any information you can share with me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,Dianne

RE: Masonic Yard
Sorry to take so long in replying. The Masonic Yard is a small cemetery located on the east side of North Street. 1.2 miles north of the blinker light in Granville. I have a book of Granville Cemetery inscriptions. Only Parker's are Peter d. Dec 28, 1838 at age 85 and Mrs Esther wife of Peter d. March 20, 1827 in 73rd yr. This cemetery was also called Granville Cemetery. between Granville and Middle Granville.

You're welcome. I have some distant family in that cemetery and it's only two counties over from where I live. The last time I went it looked like the cemetery had been abandoned, but someone must have mowed and cleaned it up since then.

RE: Oren Parker
Glad that I could fill your request. It took a while as the cemetery was closed. My guess is that they were trying to limit traffic until the roads dried up a bit.

St. John's Lutheran
There is a St. John's Lutheran right down the road from Blossom. It's a small cemetery, right next to the Burchfield Nature and Arts Center and it sits on the bank of Buffalo Creek (nice cemetery).

Schroeder Graves
You're very welcome. I grew up in West Seneca and my parents still live there, so it was quite convenient to photograph the graves today. It's always nice to visit old graves on Easter - I think they know someone's there. :)
