RE: Thank you so much!
You are welcome! Glad we could finally connect for the penny tour, even though it was cut short by the untimely heat and humidity of the day. Enjoyed meeting you and your brother, and glad to know you arrived home safely from your trip. You two take care and plan on stopping by on your next excursion north, and make some time for the rest of the tour! Bye for now ~Mike

We Are The Chosen
Hi Chasing; I had this poem too on my bio and searched for more information on who wrote it. I sent it to my relatives in an email, they do not understand why one would " Research Records on people I never knew... ". There is another poem that is lovely " They Once Walked Amongst Us.."

I am glad to have helped and isn't that the purpose on here to assist other's, if you can ?

Thank You and I am glad to have helped in such a small way.

Enjoy your week end....

Sorry the picture is not very good. It is an old white stone and the writing does not show very well.

I just realized that the photo posted actually goes to Sarah Jane and not this memorial. I apologize. I will remove my photo.

Jennifer Early Pitsenbarger
Memorial 107663005
I have posted a photo of a Jan McPheeters to this memorial. The odd thing is the biography states this person passed as a child. Please refer to the photo. I either have not posted to the correct person or the bio is incorrect.

Just for my records, can you provide me with the source of the middle name "Marion" for John Beesley that I approved with your edit request? Thanks. Bill.

Nick Grindstaff
Thank you, Dancing With Ghosts, for your kind words regarding Mr. Grindstaff's memorial, but I'm not sure they were my words. It's been almost seven years ago that we passed that way in Johnson County, TN, and I was impressed by his grave marker and by the accounting of his life. By the way ... we share the same philosophy you quoted on your profile page.

Hi,

No. My McP is Wm, # 69447396. I saw your site for Rev Saml Brown McP. I note there was also a Rev Saml Brown In Augusta or Rockbridge Co. Find A Grave # 48082319. Maybe he has kin in the area.

Best,

Mary Lou & Dixon
Henniger family
Thank you for the rest of the Henniger family. I have a book that Monroe Richard Henniger wrote and completed in 1964. It is a fairly complete story of the Henniger family. I'm hoping with the info from the book to add some to the memorials. It's a 283 page (I believe) hand typed book. Probably done on a manuel typewriter. Quite the labor of love. Monroe was in his 60s at the time he finished it.

RE: Confusion about DoB
Look at the stone again. It does say "born" on that date. His mother Maria lost several children in their early years if not right at birth. On Ancestry.com I found his mother Maria married to George, her maiden name being Grace.

I have lots of ancestors from Johnson County, some buried there with markers and some without. In 2009 I was blessed with an opportunity to visit Mountain City and found a few cemeteries but we only had a few days there. I'll be 68 this year and want very much to return.
