RE: Campbell's
Wow, I hope that is her. Melva wouldn't tell me if their were children between James and Ruby solely Because, she said they weren't kin if they did have any. She was a stubborn lady, lol.

For James and Melissa's children. I"d have to dig out some paperwork to give you some dates, but here is the list of names that I remember of their children.

John Lon Campbell
Felix Monroe
Robert Oscar
James Sailor

Might be more, but can't remember. Will dig out the paperwork. I also have pics that I will post as well. Felix and Oscar both past away in Alabama. Not much info on John Lon as of yet. Hope this helps some.

RE: Campbell's
Linda, you may find this odd, but I need to ask. Are you sure your grandmother Ruby was their 'granddaughter'? I ask this because my greagrandfather James Sailor Campbell was married twice. First to Mary Bertha Bragg and second to a woman named Ruby that no one knows much about other than her first name. James Sailor's daughter which had been living until recently, explained this to me - First, Ruby was never mentioned in the family due to her father, (James Sailor Campbell), uprooting his family for a much younger woman. She only told me so that I could get through the chaos of this family. I was then and now forbidden to speak a word of this to Melva's daughter. Melva is James Sailor Campbell's daughter, (recently passed). The only thing she would tell me is that He married a younger gal by the name of Ruby. That she believed she stayed by the Campbell family in Buffalo Valley after her husband's, (James Sailor's) death. Also, that James Sailor is in fact buried next to his sister. His headstone only reading, 'Campbell'. So, before we get into other details of the family, are you positive your Ruby is not this Ruby? Very curious, considering this is the only other time I have heard this specific name mentioned.

RE: Campbell's
Do you know who James and Melissa's children are? I do if you'd like that info. This side of the family is hard to locate on record, wouldn't you agree? It makes it especially hard to find James Campbell who married Melissa T. Garrison, because he also had a son by the same name. All I know is James Campbell, father of James Sailor Campbell. I do know that James Sailor Campbell, (My great grandpa), was married twice, although his children will not speak of it much. He shamed them when he left their mother for a much younger lady. Her name was Ruby. That's all I have been told. She was from Indiana. We have never found out her maiden name. We have no idea if she and James had children together. So there is a possibility of other children that we may not know of. I do have a picture of James Sailor Campbell. His daughter gave it to me on one condition. That I never show her daughter. It is the only picture of him. Also, James Sailor is buried alongside his sister Fronia Campbell(Herd) in Putnam county Tenn. From what I have been told, It only states 'Campbell' on his headstone. His daughter also told me this. Fronia and their other sister Eliza, married into the same family of Herds, (brothers actually). I do have pics of Fronia as well. Hmm, I'd have to look, but I do believe I have some of the others. I wish I had a middle name for our James Campbell that married Melissa Garrison. Even a town of birth, anything, lol. If you'd like to keep in touch and try to figure this out, I would love that. Very cool that we are related in some way. How are we related exactly? Very nice to meet you. Laurie

Hello Linda, not sure if we're kin, but I'm Laurie Campbell. Daughter of Donald Campbell. Donald's father was Herbert Campbell. Herbert's father was James Sailor Campbell. James Sailor was Ada's brother, both having the same parents, Melissa Garrison and James Campbell. I wondered if you had any info on James Sailor and his parents? Also, are we kin, lol?

Linda - You and I corresponded several years ago, starting with a discussion about Benjamin Franklin Brindley. We also talked about Willie's parents -- who I have as Lucy Ann Brindley (1866-1944; d/o Stephen and Polly Brindley) and Bascom A. Horton. In your posting about your dad, you say that his mother was Lucy Jane Smith (1864-1925) and her father ________ Brindley. I certainly defer to you as the direct descendant, but I wondered if you could tell me the source of your information? If my grandmother had this wrong, I'd like to correct my records.

Thanks - Darla Broberg

Lyn Smith
Could you give me information about 5 of your gravesites? They are five infants who are buried in the Old Bon Aire, Cementary in Tennessee. On Ancestry they are put on the tree of William and Mary Elizabeth (Ferguson) Southard. Their names are Buford, Zetta Beatrice, Bayless and George Southard. You are the one who has located their graves so I wonder if you have information linking them to William and Mary Southard. I believe Zetta is, because I did find a child who died in 1925 and her parents were William and Mary, but it just said baby and you have the name of Zetta.

If you have any information about these 'little ones' and who were their parents it would be very helpful!!! Thank-you Lyn Smith

Ralph Franks
John White Family
Linda, I have been asked to create the family tree of John White, the original settler and namesake of White County and it has to be the most mixed up set of genealogy records possible. So I am grasping at straws in an effort to pull it together. I have just one little question for you. On Oct 13, 2010 you created memorial #60054820 for Martha Phillips White Murray and also one for her husband Edward Murray in the Old Sparta Cemetery. I realize you got the information very clearly from their gravestone, no question. But you (?) linked two children to them (Emma Murray Greene and Nancy Murray Robertson). Could you by any chance provide me with your source for those linkages? Two extensive trees provided by members of the White family have listed only two children (sons) named Shade Murray and Byrd Murray. In my own Keathley family tree, I have that exact same Martha Phillips White marrying my 3-great uncle, Andrew C. Keathley, a preacher at Mt. Gilead Methodist Church, but that is not a question for you, but just an illustration of how mixed up the records are in the White family. Thanks, Ralph

Thank you for posting the obit. I could not find one memorial for a Hiasaw in the states. The only Hiasaw I could find in any place in the US on was in Mississippi.

This is very strange.

I manage her memorial now and have been doing research. Please go over it and if there are mistakes or anything that needs to be added. Also, I found only one Myrtle Conner in that area but it looks as if she was born in 1911. The parents on the census form are Tom and Elizabeth. When I inherited the memorial, the mother was different. Can you help?

Linda I have no idea what happened to have sent you all those messages on Roosevelt as I only sent one. It was not on purpose but may have been me searching for a photo with another program while Find a Grave was running in the background and I was opening and closing photos. If I find out what it was I will let you know. Larry

Lynn don't give up on me, still doing my best to see what I can find on your Brindley's . Have so much paperwork I'm starting to go in circles. If you are related to him, Tennessee now recognizes the Brindley Family as a Frist Family of Tennessee. You may want to look at The Brindley International Historical Foundation. Wish Timeless Spirits was on this one, the work from there is wonderful. I will get back to you again.
