Thanks for Marjorie's photo and the transfer of Ralph's Memorial. However, while it says I am now his maintainer, none of the links are there to do any editing. Any ideas? KBo

I bet she is related to me also.

I will start a second tree and start with her name and see if I can match her up to my tree.

These two are related to me and buried in same cemetery as your relative. I have to check but I think there are a few more in that cemetery buried in that cemetery. I'm curious now and will keep researching.

She is buried in the same cemetery as several of my Mclean relatives but so far I haven't ran across her name. Was Mclean her maiden or married name?

Baxter B. Fite III
Private & Hospital Steward Joseph W. Robinson, 86th Illinois
Dear Timothy, Thanks so very much for taking the time to search out and photograph the burial site of Joseph W. Robinson, whose mortal remains were laid to rest in the Riverview Cemetery in Streator, LaSalle County, Illinois. Though no one took the time to get a tombstone for him, it is good to see the area where he is buried. I hope to someday get the cemetery to see the site for myself and hope to locate his actual burial site. The family owned 12 lots there the way I understand. The government will still furnish him a Civil War style upright stone like he should have received many years ago at no charge and I hope one day to get his grave marked. In the mean time, it is good to see this picture of the area. Thanks for all you have done to get this picture for his Find A Grave site. It is GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Thanks, too, for all you have done and for all you will yet do for Find A Grave. It, too, is GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Sincerely, Baxter

Frederick S. Shearer & Joseph W. Robinson
Dear Timothy, Some time ago, I tried to put in a request to have the grave of Frederick S. Shearer photographed in Riverview Cemetery in Streator, Illinois. If I remember, a request was already in. In any case, you took the time to locate it and you posted a wonderful photograph of the government issue stone. Frederick was a member of the 86th Illinois. I don't think I got a notice that you photographed the stone and I just recently saw it. Your picture adds so much to his Find A Grave page. Frederick S. Shearer was buried in Lot 49, Row 27, of Block 16 the way I understand. Lot 49 has 12 graves in it. Frederick S. Shearer's brother-in-law, Dr. Joseph W. Robinson was also buried on Lot 49, though his grave is apparently unmarked. Please check his biography if you get a chance. Apparently these are the only two grave spaces that were used on Lot 49. I recently put in a request to have Joseph's grave photographed for his Find A Grave site. Well, obviously, if his grave is unmarked, then no one is going to be able to photograph his tombstone, as there will be no tombstone to find. The cemetery has verified through the mail that Joseph IS buried on Lot 49 with or near Frederick S. Shearer. I was wondering if you ever find yourself back in Riverview Cemetery, if you would check this lot and tell me if there is anything to suggest where Dr. Robinson's mortal remains were laid, or if the office is open can they tell you where on the lot Dr. Robinson;s mortal remains were laid in relation to where Frederick S. Shearer is buried? If it can be ascertained where Dr. Robinson is buried, could you flag his grave in some way and take a picture of it including Frederick S. Shearer's marker so that we can see where he is buried in relation to Shearer's grave? If it can not be ascertained where Dr. Robinson's mortal remains were laid, could you flag the boundaries of the lot in some way and get a picture of it for Dr. Robinson's Find A Grave site? Any help you can give me here will be greatly appreciated. I would love to get a government marker ordered for Dr. Robinson's grave if his burial site can be ascertained. Thanks!! Sincerely, Baxter

RE: Plat
I did find the family it in the 1858 plat book and again in the 1895 and 1915 books. Looks like it was passed down each generation. I also found a mention of the Coplin family in one of the Branch County History Books and made a copy for you.

RE: Shook's Prarie
I will have a couple of free minutes on Saturday and will look at the plat maps to find out the location of the Coplin homestead for you. I'll make a copy and have it for you on Sunday, if you don't make it here I'll scan it and email it to you.

RE: Shook's Prarie
Tim,
It will be vary easy for you to find the headstone, this is very small cemetery and will take you more time just find the cemetery then the headstone. There is less then 10 rows for the whole thing. "Grandma" Coplin is in row two or three if you. Park on the dirt road (Bidwell) she is located in that southeast corner. All the information I have on Shooks Cem came from the cemetery books that were transcribe in 1979 and located in the Holbrook Room. If you get out here on Saturday take a few minutes to check out the second floor at the library (Holbrook Room) lots of information in there for the whole county. I would be happy to meet you up there and show you the ropes of our genealogy department. Also I assume that Coplin Rd. is named after your family maybe the old homestead is still there. From the cemetery head north on N. Briggs Rd to Robinson Rd turn right (east) onto Robinson Rd. take that to Ely Rd and turn left (north) to the first road on the right Coplin Rd. It's a short drive, maybe a couple of miles. I work on Sunday so if your out that day stop by the fire station in Coldwater and say hi.
