Newt Rowland
I am looking for information about Newt and whether he was a US Marshall or not. I can't find anything but have only just begun. Newt was my great-grandfather. Jess Rowland, Neva's half brother was my grandfather.

Julie Thomas

I'm looking for information on a Jack Hawxby who graduated from the Melcher Dallas school. All I know about Jack is he was adopted and passed away in 1984. He was in the CCC from July 1934 to March 1938. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Julie Thomas

RE: Elizabeth Stumpf Young & Jacob Young
The direct descendant of Elizabeth and Jacob has proof that they are buried in the Old Young cemetery. I don't have that proof with me, but she has found them and restored the stones there.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, Elizabeth and Jacob have stones in the Old Young cemetery (it has a few other names as well). They were incorrectly listed in the Ledford-Young cemetery but have stones in a very small family cemetery now listed as the Old Young Cemetery.

Elizabeth Stumpf Young
Hi! Thanks for posting this. Can I ask a favor? Elizabeth has a stone in the Young Cemetery where she is buried. Would you be willing to take this site down? I'll gladly add the family links to her site at the Old Young Cemetery. I'd appreciate it. Eva Bachman

RE: Coatney
Do you mean William and Cora Coatney's children? They are linked to William and the memorial for Cora Brown. If there are children that haven't been linked I would appreciate knowing their memorial numbers if you have them, thank you for checking.

Linda Smith Johnson
RE: Glenn Smith
No, I don't think anything has ever been done with Glenn. We believe he was buried in Idado, around Nampa where Calvin and Ora were living at the time of his death. Searching cemeteries in that area, we did not find his grave, but there were three Baby Smiths listed. My grandparents would have been very poor at that time and probably could not afford a headstone.

Thank you.
Thanks for updating Ola Baldwin's memorial, and for letting me know, too.

Your website
Loved your site. I found my pic in 5th grade at Charter Oak - Wow, does that bring back memories. Mr. Kelly bought beans from my Dad's little country store and ordered them by the case. He lived in the basement of the school during the week and drove home on weekends, somewhere down by Monett. Thanks for taking me back!

Help With Find a Grave explains how to create the links

It comes in handy. I keep a sticky note (check accessories in your start menu) and keep the pattern on it. Then all I have to do is add the memorial number where the XXXXX are and the name to the other XXXX.
My condolences about your mother.

Sherrad's Chapel Cemetery
Hi Kathy - it's me the pest again!
There are 2 photo contributors you might want to contact who have posted photos from that cemetery. One is 'cjw' contributor #47031992, photos Sept 2011; and Todd Carnes #47425661, posted photos Aug 2012. I find that quite interesting.

RE: Photo Request can use a google map to search the area: Powelson Road and Dresden Road. Dresden Road dead ends at Powelson, turning to the right about 1/10th mile is the entry that is blocked and if you zoom in and follow the trail that leads back to the cemetery, you can see where it is. I understand there used to be a small church there also, Sherrod's Chapel.

RE: Photo Request
Hello Kathy:
Since this is quite a secluded area on a gravel and dirt road, there was quite a bit of vandalism going on at the cemetery and that's why they closed off the road and put up the signs. It's a shame when young people can't find something more constructive to do with their time (assuming that was the source of the vandalism). Have you looked at to see if someone may have already photo'd the stones there? Good Luck in your searches, Dianne

RE: Laura Hodkin
It probably doesn't make any difference. You don't want to replace the marker, so maybe the memorial dates should agree with the marker. Your choice. Thanks, Ed
