RE: Mary Davidson
Hello:

Thank you very much. Could you maybe post the below in the bio section? In Mary's obituary, it made specific mention that a couple adopted her. Mary is listed as living with them in the 1920 and 1930 Federal census in Brownstown. Their names and memorial numbers are:
Oscar McKain, memorial 174729722 and his wife Lucy Borders McKain, memorial 174729319.

Thank you - I think she would want that - they had no other children.

RE: Middle Creek Cemetery
There was a fire in Pigeon Forge but it was no where near the Middle Creek Cemetery. Now we had an abundance of rain in the area so out drought is about all gone. Thanks Curg...stay in touch.

RE: Middle Creek Cemetery
I am happy to report to you that the Middle Creek Cemetery was not damaged or was it in any danger at any time from the wildfires last week. The main concentration of the fires were in the Gatlinburg area.

Elizabeth (Truelock) Watson Memorial# 108351857
Found a death certificate while researching the Watson Family. Elizabeth Watson born October 7, 1831 in Indiana and died January 22, 1912 in W, Jackson, Indiana. Was living with Charles and Susan E. Standfield, (Her Graddaughter)in the 1910 census for Jackson Ward 1, Jackson County, Indiana. In the 1860 census for Jennings, Scott County, Indiana she is living with her husband John Watson and is listed as Melinda. In the 1870 census for Jackson, Jackson, Indiana she is living with her husband John Watson and is listed as Elizabeth. May be two different women, but lists the same children and Melinda and Elizabeth are both listed as being born 1832 Indiana. Looks to be the same women? Melinda Elizabeth (Truelock) Watson. Didn't know if you were related. Thought you might like to know. Take Care, Kaycie

RE: Margaret Simmons
Margaret's parents divorced in 1928 according to a family tree on ancestry. He is married to a second wife (Lydia) by the 1930 census. Lucy is listed as his much (born about 1914) younger wife in the 1940 census, so I'm supposing that would make her Margaret's 2nd step-mother.

RE: Kathryn Undercoffer # 162598822
Thank you. Now all we have to do is wait for a while, to get a gravestone on her burial site. My Dad passed away last month, and I finally got to go to a Committal Service, to place him in our Columbarium. It is complicated. Hopefully, other people do not have experience what our family did.

Kathryn Undercoffer # 162598822
Please place her photo under the correct heading, not under her gravestone heading. When looking at the right side of the page, the Undercoffer's, you notice that her photo shows up as a gravestone, not a photo. Thank you for correcting this placement.

RE: Listons
Curg, are you on Ancestry? I have quite a lot of information in my tree there. My screen name is greenpastimes. For now, your Listons descend from James Liston who passed away in St. Louis while visiting his brother William Patrick Liston. It is William who moved from KY to MO permanently. Your James was of course interred in KY. I haven't been able to determine who William and James parents were. Let me know if you need further information. Alan

Listons
Hi. I happen to be friends with some of the Missouri Listons. You probably already know that some of the Danville, KY group moved to St. Louis in the late 1800s. I live in Ohio now. Just thought I'd drop a note. Regards, Alan

RE: John A Shields
John A. Shields was my grandfather and I understood his given middle name was Arthen, although I don't have any official papers (birth or marriage certificates, etc.) of which I know giving that name. I also have a few of his family history books. His youngest son apparently did not know the actual name was Arthen or thought Arthur sounded better, so my cousin is indeed John Arthur Shields--but I've heard him say he thought he was named erroneously.

Martin Shields - McDonough Co., IL
Hi Curg:

I am working on the descendants of Martin Shields, who was the son of Nathan V. Shields and Mary Kingery. I can furnish a descendants genealogy report of a little over 11 pages, if you are interested. Maybe you can fill in some of the holes in my report.

I am working an article for our local genealogy newsletter on Martin Shields and Mary Van Meter. Mary Van Meter is a "2nd Cousin 3 times removed" to my wife. Anyway I hope to hear from you.

Steve Burke
Macomb, IL.
