RE: Thanksgiving
Thank you! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well. Our son came down for 6 days! He would be the only reason for me to go back to PA! Hoping you did not get hit with all that snow. Stay safe and see ya around Find A Grave.

Grave Photos
What is your policy regarding sharing grave photos to people's family trees? (Mine is Private at this time.) Your Bio does not say anything about this.

Anytime, if you need any transfers, just make a list.

Added by Sheila (Horn) Strickler on Oct 06, 2014 8:48 PM

You're not asking too much! I made all the transfers and don't hesitate if there are anymore. I hope to help people connect to their memorials. =)

RE: Charles Ritchie
Did he die while he was at the Masonic Homes now called Masonic Village?. They also have a memorial garden if he was cremated but there are no idividual markers to take a picture of.

Aldworth Duplicates
One last question? It looks like the only thing I can do with the duplicate record (added by the fallen graver) is to pay $5. I'm not sure how to take ownership of it. Is there something else I should be doing?
Thanks for any help!

RE: Aldworth
eeeekkkk! I've never done this before! The poor Aldworth family-they will be my guinea pigs. I am just getting started with F-A-G. I haven't even located one grave for the requests I'm working on. Can you please tell me how most people find the headstone locations? Do many people just walk around cemeteries and take pictures, and kind of learn the maps as they go? I haven't been able to find grave locations in searchable databases online, and the people in the offices are not very helpful unless you have 1 or 2 that you're looking for. Most of them want to be paid if you're looking for more than 2. I was able to contact the church historian for the first cemetery I got requests for, and even she was not much help. Oh well, I'll keep trying and learn the ropes eventually. Any insight you have would be much appreciated.

Aldworth Duplicates
Hi T, I was just searching F-A-G and I'm pretty sure that there are duplicate records (and memorials) for one of my relatives. He is in the database as follows:
Aldworth, Harry Jr
Aldworth, Harry J

One record shows 1892-1918 and the other shows Unk-1918. Both dates of death are Oct 12 1918, so I'm pretty sure it is the same man.
I'm not sure how you normally handle something like this. Can you help?

Hi Tina,

I'm glad I could help. I have added Isaac also for you, too. I thought I had added him, but must have forgotten, but it's there now.

RE: Hessler
No problem!

For Abner Henry, was it maybe IA instead of 9A? Ask if he has a stone/marker - most of the plots in IA are just brass plates with the family surname.

Charles Hessler
There is an Ethel Hessler d.1965 buried near Charles. If there's a memorial for her, give me the link and I can add the photo.

Don't know if you were notified or not, but I did go back after the snow melted and took photos.
