I live in Canada and can't get there very easily in person. I'd sure appreciate your help!!! I am trying to find any record or headstone photo (if there is a stone) for Jonas Jacobson, born 17 June 1850 in Sogandall, Norway, and died in 1895 in Harwood, North Dakota. He was married to Johanna Berthena (Jacobson) Jacobson, also born in Sogandall, Norway. She eventually re-married, first to Allan Emery Lauck (don't know if they divorced or he died) and later to William Raymond (Ray) Phelps, and they ended up in Canada. I know the particulars at that stage. Just can't find anything on Jonas, his parents or anything. I know that he and his wife immigrated to the U.S. in 1893, and that he and his brother worked on a threshing crew at Harwood, where he contracted Typhoid Fever, from having to use the bush for a bathroom. Maybe he is buried where they lived. Any history or photos that you might be able to locate would be very, very appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Kathy (Britton) Cox

Please change Karen Cordes to Karen Baldwin I was a Baldwin at the time of my dads death and I have proof my husband died in 2003 and I was a Baldwin. Than and always will be it is so unfair that you have not granted me the rights to my familybut at leastmake it right my husband is and will be my soul mate. If you are so good at genealogy make it right. Oh genealogy is your passion you sure have made a mess of our family Thank you Karen Baldwin not Cordes.

Unfortunately the memorial #76054810 George Stockeland and his wife Isabelle #76055055 are duplicates of earlier ones. Thought to let you know so you can post the wonderful pics on the correct memorial. I will be deleting my entry soon. thanks Alexis

|GraveRobber||RE: Rogaland Cemeteries|
I started working on Sola Cemetery this week and have added about 900 additional names. I estimate that I've photographed about 3/4 of the cemetery and have about another 400 stones left to enter from the 1300 I took this week. I'm off tomorrow to Romania for two weeks, but will be entering the remaining pictures I have. I'll get back over there when I'm back from Romania and finish photographing the rest of the cemetery.
I haven't come across the names you asked about in what I've posted. I started with the older stones first and am working my way out to the new ones.

Thank you so much for adding a memorial for Robert Lietz and also accepting the edits for his parents. So glad there is a picture too. I was at the cemetery a few months ago, but couldn't find him.
Thanks again for all the work you do for Find a Grave!! Much appreciated!

|GraveRobber||RE: Rogaland Cemeteries|
I am slowly working my way through the cemeteries in and around Stavanger. So far I have documented 100% of six cemeteries and am currently working on the two big ones in Stavanger proper--I can walk to them when I have a couple of hours to kill.
Sola requires a drive and I stop by there as time allows when I have business in the area. I will eventually get all of Sola photographed and posted. I actually plan to be out there tomorrow and it if isn't raining will spend a couple of hours there taking pictures. I won't commit to looking for your people as it is a good size cemetery, but will focus on the older sections first and hopefully your folks will be in those sections. After I get the pictures posted, I'll look for the names you've provided and let you know if I have any success. If I don't get them on this trip, there will be more pictures coming in the near future.

|Karen Dix Wojahn||Hans Aalgaard|
Hans and Annie Aalgaard were my maternal grandparents. I would like to have their sites transferred to my care so I can update information as I find it. Thank you for honoring them by remembering them on Find-A-Grave. It is very difficult to do genealogy work on these Norwegians!
Thanks you! Karen Dix Wojahn (firstname.lastname@example.org)

Thanks for the kind words in your Email. I'm happy I could help. My memory tells me I took these photos in 2007.
If it interests you, over the last 5 to 10 years I have posted many other cemetery photos for anybody to see. Two sites....NDgravestones.org and Teafor2.com
These two sites are for cemetery photos in Logan and McIntosh counties in ND.
Best wishes in your research work.

Along with Albert Widness you will see that I have also added photos to his wife's, Gladys, Memorial Page as well.
As you will see it was a beautiful day in Amor.
It was also a very nice drive through Minnesota lake country.
Thanks for the request.

I have other Rockswold I'm looking for and they seem to live in the Litchville, Valley City, Forman ND area. I not familiar with the area. Any information will help & understand if this is out of your area. Thanks Carlyn

|Melissa OBrian||Re #36266116 Warren Edward Fichtner|
I was searching for the spouse that parented the 4 children of Gloria Anne Pittock #83317476. When I found no Fichtner at Jacksonville Cem., Jackson co., OR...I widened my search in Find A Grave. Going to last name in Refined, & all counties. Bingo, found him.
I noted your message that he is a 1st cousin 2x removed.
There is no data about their relationship, except to say there were 3 sons & a dau surviving.
Were they divorced? I would like to include data on our tree on ancestry.com recognizing this family relationship.
I see he had 2 wives from this 2009 created memorial. Was he also divorced from Hellen Crichton, or is she his widow?
Like you I find Find A Grave a highly undervalued resource for family research & genealogy.

His sister, Lydia, is my great-great grandmother. I am so grateful for people like yourself who contribute to these sites, even for non-family members. What a gift to have that connection extended across the miles.

|BJ||RE: Magdaline Koeplin|
She certainly is...I had no luck either...but, guessing she was married to a "Burlic?" prior to her marriage to August...as she has a single daughter named Blanche Burlic? on the 1920 census...
They must have been married in Millerville...wonder if the Church has those old records...
Added by BJ on Sep 27, 2012 5:16 PM
Thank you for the information...any chance you know what Magdaline Koeplin's maiden name is?
