Hello Lynn,
I received a message from someone who is interested in the McDonalds....

Teresa we are looking for a list of children that Alexander McDonald and Margaret Huie McDonald had....also if any of those children were with them on the ship from Scotland.

Also any other info that you might hold about this family.

We think that they could very well be our 3rd great grandfather but can't for sure get childrens names and birthdates. this something you'd be willing to respond to?
Let me know. :)

Samuel Dare Lodge Photo

Thank you so, so much for the photograph of Mr. Lodge's headstone.

I will repay your kindness by doing the same for as many folks as I can here in Los Angeles.

Have a wonderful day!

RE: McDonald
Hi Lynn,
Maybe it would be better if you send me your email address and I'll be happy to attach the emails for you. I'd hate to attach them on here if you think there is a chance of them not being related. There were a whole bunch of McDonald's but this was the only Alex I could find. I have 2 pictures of the 3 headstones and then one of the close up of the bigger stone that has the engraving on it.
My email address is
It sort of 'works'. Alex was born in 1817...if I remember correctly....I don't have the paper in front of me, and she was born in 1809. Alex Jr. was born in 1836, so I took a chance that it might be a match for you. :)

RE: Jennie McDonald
You're welcome, hope it helps. Note that Jennie's husband has no death year inscribed, suggesting that he might not be buried here. Of course, he might be there, but no one had the headstone inscribed; this assuming that the matching stone was bought at the time of Jennie's death). I could find no information regarding his death.

RE: Stanger
Thank you SO much for the photos! I am extremely grateful for you taking the time to fulfill these requests. Also, thanks for the information on the others. I didn't know there were 2 locations of burials. I have been trying to figure out a "Stanger" mystery in my family and your help is certainly appreciated.

Joan Pacitti
Eidam/Eidman memorial
Hi Lynn: I thank you for sending me the edit. I did the name correctly in the bio., but did it incorrectly when entering the name.
Some black stones are very shiny and do have a reflection. That's the way my nephew's is, so when we took a photo of his stone, I think my husband stood off to the side as you did.
Some of the new black stones, I believe, are not as shiny.
Thanks for letting me know.

Thank you so much for the photo. I'm so very sorry I missed the notice that the request has been filled. I wonder, if the cemetery has a record of her husband being buried beside her? His name was Charles James Amster. I'll make a memorial for him and request a photo.
These were my gr gr grandparents.

Thank you again!
