RE: The Street Family
Hi Denine, Thank you so much for my family plot information. I live in Colorado but I will be visiting Sonora in May and I will call you. I have copied the plot information that you provided and I will bring it with me to the cemetery. I am excited to visit my great grandparents' plot, thank you so very much for finding it for me!
Always, Catherine

RE: The Street Family
Hi Denine, Thank you so much for the Street Family plot information, it sounds like you did indeed find my great grandparent's plot.
I live in Colorado but I plan to visit Tuolumne this Spring. I am hoping that you can tell me the directions to the Street Family plot at the Sonora IOOF Cemetery, I understand the cemetery can be confusing. I will try to locate the plot on my visit.
Thank you again for your time & effort. You are an angel!
Thank you, Catherine

RE: Sonora City Cemetery
Here is what someone sent me for his obituary which you might find some clues.
At Pooley's Ranch, Dec. 14, 1891, Benajah D. Wheeloch, a native of New York, aged 60 years.
--The Union Democrat, Sonora, Tuolumne County, California, 19 Dec 1891, pg. 2, col. 5

Last Tuesday word was brought to town that B. D. Wheelock was found lying dead in the road which runs through the Pooley ranch and connects with the main county road at Blanket Creek. The Coroner and Sheriff went to the place and, after an examination of the deceased, concluded death resulted from natural causes and no inquest was held. On last Monday afternoon, at 3 o'clock p.m., Mr. Pooley's wife observed deceased passing her residence, leading three horses up the road. About fifteen minutes later she noticed the horses returning without Mr. Wheelock. On Tuesday morning Frank Connelly was coming down the road and discovered the deceased lying flat on his back in the middle of the road. It is mere conjecture as to what caused his death, but as is usually the case in sudden death heart disease is attributed as the cause, and that is supposed to have caused Mr. Wheelock's death. Deceased was in Soulsbyville on Monday, and received small change for a twenty dollar gold piece from W. H. Barron, who reports Mr. Wheelock to have been in an unusually cheerful mood. The change was found on the deceased. His remains were brought to Sonora Wednesday and interred in the City Cemetery.

Sonora City Cemetery
I noticed in a post from about a year ago that you were going to seek out a cemetery map for the Sonora City Cemetery. I was wondering if you had at luck with that and or if you happened to see the name Benage Wheelock at all.

RE: James Allen

Thank you for notifying me about the duplicate entry. However, I did not create two entries. Find A Grave created two entries pointing to the same record in the Interesting Epitaphs list. If you look in the cemetery listing you will only see one entry. I have sent emails to Find A Grave about this but still no resolution and I continue to get messages about it, some not so nice.

RE: Harvey Boland
Thank you for putting pictures of the gravestones on the memorial. The date nearest an event is usually the best. The earliest date I have for Harvey Boland is the 1900 U.S. census, which shows month and year of birth. For Harvey it has Feb 1893. It is seven years from the time of his birth. His Social Security Application has Feb 1894. I think he would have been about 35 years old at that time. It seems probable that he would know when he was born. It does match the date on the gravestone. With the two dates, it's hard for me to decide which one is correct. I will put a note on his page regarding it.

This memorial and many others were given to me without me knowing it. I am working hard to update each of them as I am made aware of them. I have done the research for this family and have linked and added additional information as I have found it. Thanks you for making me aware that I have numerous "new" memorials in this cemetery.

p.s. the other one has been deleted

I had a chance to do a little research and the memorial I inherited from an inactive volunteer was put up many, many years before the other so it is the dupe not mine.

Thanks, I will contact the other person through the correct channels to ask them to delete their dupe

If you have any other edits please go through the memorial so there is no question who we are dealing with.

Thanks, Eileen

harry fuller at Carter's, father William
You added photos for Harry Fuller at Carter's Cemetery in Toulumne. A Fuller relative has put in a photo request for Harry's father William Fuller. Since Harry, Annie and William are on the same headstone, could you add your picture to William Fuller's memorial if it is still available? It looks like someone else copied your photo for Annie's memorial, but that is against Find A Grave rules unless they have permission.

Mohr Historical Researcher
Thank you for the photographs of the headstones. I will be up there in May to decorate some of the graves. I made a wooden marker for one of the graves out of a cutting board. His wooden marker is 99 years old and not in good shape. I recently found out his wife is buried in the cemetery, most likely next to him. He was from Germany, and she was Miwuk.
