Nancy Henry Bryant Whitaker
Nancy Henry married Samuel Henry Bryant and James Madison Whitaker. That could explain the name on the tombstone. The picture posted shows up pretty well if you click on it. It is readable. I did not post the existing picture and have no picture of my own nor do I have any plans to drive to Tennessee in the near future.

Hi Maddy, Sorry to say, I have no idea. I am not connected to either family, I just created the memorial as it is my hometown cemetery. You may find some info. at www.portvillehistory.org or www.paintedhills.org Goodluck, Mark

I wish I lived there, Maddy. I'd be happy to crutch out to the cemetery and take the picture. I'm about 14 names behind here in our local cemetery.

If we're there again, I'll try to take a photo. We're 86 and 89, have had a lot of illness and been unable to travel. I haven't been able to walk.

Hello Maddy

Yes, there is a headstone. I don't live in Motley County. I just typed some of the list of burials included in INTERMENTS IN MOTLEY COUNTY, TEXAS, and entered them in Find A Grave. My husband was born in Roaring Springs and knew Rita and Algie Groves, authors of the book.

Michael Stephen Jackson
RE: John Henry Miller 1862 1918
Hey Maddy,
I just today scanned the John Henry Miller Family photo from my book, so I might have a better image yet. I'm slowly but surely scanning and adding images from my book of 20 years ago. I originally had wanted to do 900 photos and because of cost had to settle for 90. So hopefully I'll find a few new gems in the old publishers box of photos.
Good to hear from you.

Steve

RE: Clyde Johnson 1903-1909
Hi again, Once again I just enlarged your picture and took the information about Clyde and his parents.
It is a bit puzzling and confusing to me also. I don't believe I have seen a family headstone quite like this one before. Nevertheless, it seems to be good information. Harold

RE: Tyra Augusta Sims 1879-1986
Hi Maddy, All I did was enlarge your picture and take the information off of it. I had Tyra Augusta Amelia Sims, daughter of Frederik C Sims and Ane Margrethe Nielsen Sims, with the same birth and death dates. The same is true for Son: William George Sims 17 April 1881-18 July 1902. I had an alternate name of Wilhelm George "Willie" Sims with the same birth and death dates. You might make a photo request for both sides of the headstone. I have no idea what the other side has.
I hope this helps some. God bless. Harold
