J. C. Mott parents
Can you tell me if Silas M. Mott & Eleanor Summers Chapman are his parents?

If so then I am 4th cousin 1 time removed.

My line from his brother, William Davis Mott

RE: Thursy's family Photo
So I just got my emails and I have to take time to thank you for the invitation to your tree....what a delight it will be to take a look at it. Will most likely help in my research..
I want to stress the point that I am not related, just want to make sure you know that. When I create memorials from the local cemetery here, I oftentimes research some of the burials. In Thursy's case, I could not find a Calif. death record for her, so I got curious as to her story. Has turned out to be most interesting given the many states she left records in. :)
I think I will use your email for questions from the tree...okay with you? I love research and hope to be a genealogist (or at least a very credible researcher) some day. :)

RE: Thursy May Powell
Hi
Will do some "sleuthing" and see if I can get a lead on her parents, they died 10 years apart. No telling where they are though. Thursy was from OK, married a guy in AR who lived in CA (not too far from me), she died in OK and was buried here in CA in my home-town. So anything is possible, right? Was chasing down her brothers to see if the mom had been with them anytime after James died. Found one brother in NM on a census, but he died in OK. :)

Will let you know if I come across anything remotely definite :)

Thursy May Powell
Hello Jack,
I am once again looking at Thursy's memorial. Do you happen to know her parents' names? Am attempting to locate census records for her. Also, is it possible that she was married before Glenn Powell? She was age 47 when she married him....so could there be prior hubbies? :)

Any info would be helpful.

Thursy May Powell
Hi,
Sorry for so many messages, but just one more...I was able to locate the marriage record at familysearch; so I placed a link to it on her memorial, and thanks to you for that, I found that I had created a memorial for her husband Glen...so they are linked as well.
If you want her transferred to your care, let me know as I am not related to her or Glen.

Cheers,
rebeltem

Thursy M. Powell Edit Request
Hi,
More Info; the SSDI record for her has her name as Thursy M. Powell. Here is what I suggest; delete your current edit request and submit a second one without the nickname and I will process the request as soon as I get it.

Thursy M. Powell Edit Request
Hi there,
I have not processed your request as yet; need clarification on one thing. Do you happen to know what her first name actually was?
You have given middle name of May, maiden name of Long, and nickname Thursie....
I created the memorial from a burial record at the local cemetery, and Thursy is what they have on their record. So, Thursy for the first name and Thursie for a nickname doesn't make sense.
If you can help with this piece, then I will process the edit request.
Please let me know what you think on this.

Children Meet Your Ancestors
Hi Jack,

A correction to the book is in order due to very recent research has confirmed the spouse of William Summers (1756-1823) was Luranah (Teague) and not her sister Susannah. Please see the source notes on my website at http://ourfamilysaga.com/getperson.php?personID=I3840&tree=ourfam001

Thanks!

By the way, are you related to the Mathews or Scales line?

Thank you for letting me know about the census record. I had no idea orphans were sometimes listed as inmates at an orphanage and so hadn't looked at that census record. I've been researching for 10 years now and had never seen that, so thank you very much! The record was invaluable. I wish I could find where some of the kids were buried or where they ended up. I'll keep looking.

Thank you again,
Amy

RE: Myrtle Mae Beckham Shoop
I made a memorial for Myrtle...I only know her birth and death dates and she was married twice..first to Harvey Rowe...Jun 26, 1941 and then to George Rollen Shoop..May 12, 1945...I didn't check into her line....I would love to have a copy of her death notice.
Thanks, Jan

Probably same reason her death notice lists her as Abandoned instead of husband in prison.
