Dear Pam,
It is out of respect . I find we know less about WW1 , then any other war and I find that a shame.
We lost so many good men and they deserve to be remembered . WW1 has been a passion of mine. I collect photos of the brave men who fought in it. My way of remembering them . I also collect books on the subject as well. One of my brothers' is a history professor and teaches in depth about WW1.
I think it's wonderful you remember your uncle.

Family
Hi im Eddie Holmes (from Winchcombe) son also from Winchcombe, My name is Neil. I am 49 Eddie's youngest son of 8. William Edgar was my dads uncle. My Dads dad was Harald Holmes, Formily of Wood Stanway. Dad always made us aware of how precious the VC cross was, and ever since a small child i have often thought of it to be a great honour to be a Holmes. Have not seen the medal yet but hope to in the near future and will say a preyer for William and the rest of the Holmes which are resting. My father Eddie passed away 2 years this January also my Mother 8 days after my father. Hope to hear from you very soon. All my love Neil Holmes
