Finley McSween
Just a quick question on the photos of Finley McSween's grave. I can read part of it, but do you happen to know what both sides of the gravestone say in full? There is a high probability that this is my 7th great-grandfather and I would like to know more.

RE: Owen Slaughte & Slaughter Cemetery
Joni, that's fantastic.
I have one fairly modern Slaughter in my tree, someone who married a Weeks. The Caney Creek cemetary they were buried in (long dissolved into the earth, I presume) is photographed thus: A lot of greenery, bushy, no landscape, with a wooden gate in it, wide enough to drive a horse and cart through. It's a reminder that "Ashes to ashes and dust to dust" ain't jus' a woofin'.

Thanks for your work and perseverance.

Henry T Taylor
I know you may be posting info you have gotten from someone else but I am sure that some of the info on Henry T Taylor 1873-1945 is not correct. Those are not his parents or his siblings. Wife(Lula) and child (William) are correct. His father Robert Taylor was born late 1850's. His mother was Nancy Johnson also born late 1850's. The people listed are Robert and Nancy C (Dickard)Taylor per 1880 census Easley,(Pickens)SC. The 1880 census shows Robert's mother-in-law Sallie Dickard in same household. Henry's parent were in Adamsville, (Marlboro) SC in 1880. The date on Henry's grave marker is incorrect. The 1910 census matches the 1880 census of approx. 1879 as date of birth for Henry. His given name was John Henry Taylor. Henry T was just a nickname.I hope this make sense to you. Henry and Lula had 8 children. I do have that info because (William) was my dad. Thanks Darlene Taylor

I don't know if you are the person who posted the information on his parents but I do have some questions about where this information was obtained. I am his granddaughter and I do have a copy of his death certificate that states his parents were Robert Taylor and Nancy Johnson not Nancy Cunningham. I also have a brother named Matthew or (Mack) and a sister Mary Francis who married Tom Gibson. Any information would be appreciate to help me get the correct information. Thanks Darlene Taylor

Owen Slaughte & Slaughter Cemetery
Joni, Where did you find this information with the precise dates on this Owen Slaughter?

Too I understand that the family cemetery can't be located any more, all having gone back to earth. Is that correct?

I'm eager to find more about the history of this family, and not simply names on family trees.
(He seems to be an early relative of one of my direct line ancestors--that is, the line leads to and as I remember through him.

I'm a descendant of John McMurray (buried in Old Presbyterian Cemetery in Kingsport, Tn - grave 63034310). I'm trying to trace my family tree through John. Do you have in information on John's parents and/or grandparents (name, dates of birth & death)?

Would you, please, consider transferring this memorial to me? He was my husband's great-grandfather's younger brother. It appears that at least three sons in this family served in the Civil War and he is the second one to die in service. I am trying to connect all his family and would appreciate it more than you can know.
Thank you sincerely,
Ila Sosebee Lark

RE: Thank you!
Not a problem. We all have ideas of what we would like those memorials we created to look like. Sorry that I did not catch that in your biography. We need to work together to make the experience of being findagrave memorial care givers a pleasant experience. Hope you have a wonderful journey with your genealogy.

for the memorial in the subject line but I have received no edit requests listing this information. What was the date of death that you found? Please feel free to provide this information in a personal message or using FindAGrave's new edit system.

Thank you for the information on Francis Ford. I remember that plane crash well. I was living in York Co, SC at the time and we later drove up Highway #49 towards Charlotte and saw the wreckage. I have never forgotten the horror of it and the suffering of the families.
