Help
Caorlyn Hale Pierce:
On the inactive memorials you have to send the information to find a grave, tell them it is inactive give then the information and they will post (However it takes a while) You can also request from them the memorial be transferred to you. You can also use the edit button on the memorial to make changes these will automatically be changed in I think 90 das if the holder of the memorial does not change them.

I would suggest that you read the frequent asked questions on Find a grave site, this has answered many questions for me.

If you click on help with find a grave in the left hand corner of your screen from your profile page it should take you to the list.

FYI there are 2 Woodmere Cemeteries in my area Waltz, and Detroit. It will help them if you refer to the cemetery as Woodmere in Wayne County Detroit Michigan.
Try to be specific with your information;

Sample:
Seneca Allen
Woodmere Cemetery
Detroit
Wayne County
Michigan, USA

Imported from: US Veteran's Affairs
Originally Created by: Laura (inactive)
Record added: Oct 13, 2005
Find A Grave Memorial# 11963982

This gives them all the information they need right at their fingertips and they are more likely to do it first. Otherwise they have to do research which takes time.
I had to look up both cemeteries to find Seneca Allen because you did not tell me it was in Woodmere Cemetery in Wayne County Detroit nor did you gie me the memorial # .
Woodmere in Monroe County is closer to me, so I went there first. Get the idea.

Hope this has helped. If I can help you with anything else let me know.
Good Luck !

RE:Hi There! thought you might know the answer to my dilemma. Am researching several people buried in Woodmere Cemetery and would like to manage them. The manager of the site for Seneca Allen, for example, is listed as inactive. Since you added info on the Mill having records,I thought you might know what FindaGrave does re: transfers with an inactive manager. Do you? Would love to move forward with my research, as I have lots to add to the bio sections for not only Seneca Allen, but his wife, Fanny Lucinda Brigham Allen, their daughter, Wealthy Clarinda Allen and her husband Joseph Pierce.

Am looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks!!!! Caorlyn Hale Pierce

I had a duplicate memorial of her linked to the same parent. When I deleted the one it stayed linked. Very strange.
Happy new year.

I have posted your photo you requested for Francis. She doesn't have a marker so I placed a wreath where she is at so you know where she rests.

Good luck in your searches.

William Braxton Miller & Ruth Van Wormer
Hi, sorry about the slow response from last month. Did she get remarried with the name Ruth Van Wormer Oettinger (1869-1953)? Also in Riverside. I wasn't sure if I should link them or not.

Asa Risley
Hi Sassa!
I wondered if you've had any luck discovering information on Abigail's burial location?
Sincerely, Karen

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Asa Risley
Am looking with great interest at the ongoing discussion of the headstone attributed to Asa and Abigail. Asa is my 3rd gr grandfather through his second wife, Sophia Griswold. I had always assumed that Abigail was buried in Gill, MA since she died in 1814. Unless of course she was brought to Canton and buried with him at the Brick Yard cemetery. Am slogging through Massachusetts records to find this out. Ain't research grand?!!! Would like to just give a big shout out to Ann Cady here for all the incredible work she has done in St Lawrence County. She was way ahead of Find a Grave when she posted her inventory years and years ago. Regards, Carolyn Hale Pierce

RE: DeWolfe Plot
You are most welcome and thank you for taking the time to look through our website. Indeed we are a very active group.
You are writing a book about the family, that is great. I do have an article about Dr. Stephen DeWolfe from one of the local newspaper. It is not a flattering article and is in regard to getting paid for his services.
If there is anything we can do let us know.

Hales in St. Mary's
Hi Carolyn,

I came across another Hale stone in St. Mary's - same section as your family. I wondered if they were related? - John W. & Genevieve D. Hale (Find A Grave Memorial# 109504283 & 109504378). I was actually looking for the Crosses you asked about, but I couldn't seem to get my bearings so I could find them. It was such a nice day, I think maybe Moey took his stone for a little walk. I'll try again. If the Hales I mentioned are yours, I'd be happy to transfer them.

Best Regards,
Skip

RE: Crosses in St Mary
Hi Carolyn!

Gee, I guess the obvious reply would be there are 1000s of Crosses in St. Mary's. :)

But seriously, I don't recall seeing the family you asked about but I would be happy to go look once the weather improves. As I recall, the Hale monument was on a north facing slope so it will retain the snow for a while.

Chuckled at your story about your Mom. I'm sure she was full of grace.

Please remind me to go look for the Cross family in late March.

Peace.
