Holy Cross Cemetery Photo Requests
Please call the cemetery office and ask for the grave location. Photo requests cannot be fulfilled without Section, Range/Row and Lot numbers as cemetery is too big. Thank you!

Michael Flood
Hi Kim,
I was surprised to find this memorial posted, as
you stated, because this cemetery is only
accessible 2 times a year. Michael is also my
GGGrandfather. Who is the uncle you were referring to, as my uncle gave me the same info?
Do you have any pictures of him or his wife,
Anna? I do have the names of their 8 children.
I don't have any dates for their daughter Mary.
I am related through their son Michael, Jr. who
married Hannah Flick.

Mr. Francis McArdle
Frank Shields
I found some burial info online for a Francis Shields buried in Holy Cross on Feb. 23rd 1904.
I was reading your bio for Frank Shields on the memorial page and you have his death age as 29 yrs. The burial info I have says his death age is 39 yrs, don't know if this is the same person. If you want I will fulfill your request with this photo as there was no headstone at the plot listed.

Mike Flood
RE: James Flood
Yes, he is my GGGrandfather.
I took this picture in 1990 while I was visiting Indiana. My data is at Ancestry under Byrnes-Flood. Couldn't find the picture for awhile, misplaced it. James is the son of Edward and Martha. I'm in FL

You're welcome (does this mean you have to change the spelling on your middle name?)

Eklton (Souletown), Chandler Township, Huron County, Michigan.

Harriet Heaton
Just wanted to let you know that you have the cemetery information wrong for Harriet. She is buried in Huron County not Charlevoix County.

Richard Boyer
Scheidemantel marker, Birmingham Cemetery
I stopped by Birmingham Cemetery today to look for the marker for Johann Scheidemantel with no luck. I did find the markers for Albert, Carl, Selma, Dorathea, Ernest and Micheal Scheidemantel if you are interested. Contact me at: for those pictures.

RE: James Cox
Kim, I found the book that the info on James Cox came out of.
Mercer County,PA - Cemetery Inscriptions - Vol. XV
Compiled by Sally Glaser Dufford and Loretta Barker DeSantis in co-operation with the
Mercer County Genealogical Society
Box 812
Sharon, PA 16146-0812
Buhl-Henderson Community Library

Keep in mind that this was from 20 years ago, so this address is probably invalid now.

Buried next to James Cox is Mary Cox born June 23, 1889, died Aug 21, 1938. I am assuming she was his wife.

Hope this helps,

James Cox
Kim. I didn't see James' grave, his name and info happened to be on a page that was copied from a cemetery book for Oakwood Cemetery. We were in Mercer Co., PA about 20 years ago and a lady copied pages for me that had relatives listed on them. I was going through old info and decided to list the other names that were not related before I tossed the papers. I am afraid I do not know what book it was taken from. I will transfer his memorial to you.

I have transferred management of the two memorials that you requested. My reason for searching in Locust Grove Cemetery was for my own personal reasons but also looked for those markers that were requested. I was lucky to find your 2nd great grandparents d/t time constraints. Fulfilling another's requests is a large part of why I do this kind of thing. Knowing that you and others have one more piece of your family tree puzzle is very satisfying to me. I live 5 hours from that cemetery but if I am ever in that area again, I will certainly try to help again if I can.
Good luck,

Emmert Family Tree
Hi Kimberly,

Kathy H. directed me to you. My line comes down from Andrew Jackson Emmert and Elizabeth Neeley to son, Phillip Frederick and his wife, Margaret Morrison. They would be my great grandparents, and Andrew my great great grandfather. Kathy has sent me lots of info about Andrew. Do you have any interesting info on Elizabeth? Also, I've seen the passenger list several times for the first Emmers family coming to the U.S. in 1833, but I don't know what port they arrived at. Do you?

Thanks, Barbara

I am still trying to sort out and find Willie and Wm S Cox. I put a call into the office to see if they indeed have markers. Awaiting call back. There were only "White" on the monument for Laura Willa.
