Amelia Gilbert
I had not looked for Amelia/Millie's headstone when I went to the cemetery because the Millie Jane listed in the book had different birth & death dates. I am pretty sure this is the person you are looking for & will get back to the cemetery & get a photo for you.

I failed to tell you that I know Colleen Sharp very well. She works at the bank in Maryville, so I deal with her quite often. Also, Martin worked for my Uncle Richard for a number of years and they lived in his tenant house outside of Skidmore. Its a small world!

RE: Iva Lou Sharp
Thank-you! I appreciate that. I am a lifelong citizen of Skidmore, and have known so many of these people in the Hillcrest Cemetery. My Dad and all his family are buried there, so I feel like I am visiting old friends, and I don't want anyone to be left out. Will continue to take pics until all the graves are recorded, just takes time, as you probably know!

RE: Ohio Cemetery
Not so, look at the birth and death dates for the parents you say is his. I know about this little baby I was there when his parents buried him. Joyce Ann had four husbands. Kenneth Walker, Paul Ashford, James Donald Meek and John Eugene Meyer. The baby has William also in his name. Named after James's grandfather and they added William on to the name of the baby too. The parents you have for this baby, both died even before this baby was born. Please look again. Thank you.

We must be talking about different Jay Quiba Meek's.
The one I have a memorial on is Jay Quimba Meek, Find A Grave #77107614.
He was born 04 DEC 1860 and died 12 MAR 1940. He was 79 years old.
He was not baby when he died.
See his headstone and death certificate.

What dates do you have for his birth and death?
What is the Find A Grave Memorial Number of the individual you are talking about?

His parents:
Reason Meek (1822 - 1891) (abt. 38 years old when Jay was born)
Matilda McIlroy Meek (1826 - 1902) (abt. 34 years old when Jay was born)

Please submit your corrections using the edit tab of the memorial.
See Find A Grave FAQ's "How do I correct an error in memorial data?"

The procedure will properly identify the memorial you are talking about.

Thank you,

Jay Quimba William Meek, his parents were: James Donald Meek and Joyce Ann Helms. He was their third child. Joyce was my cousin. You may want to remove the wrong parents and list the right couple. Thank you.

James Donald Meek is the grandson of Jay Quimba Meek not his parent.

Christina was James Donald Meek spouse, not your "cousin" Joyce Ann Helms.

Joyce Ann Helms, of Burlington Junction, Nodaway County, MO, wed Kenneth Edwin Walker, of Clarinda, Page County, IA, 10 OCT 1949 in Carroll County, Arkansas.

Thank you,

RE: Jay Quimba Meek Find a Grave #77107614 Ohio Cemetery

The only Jay Quimba Meek I have listed is Find a Grave #77107614.

His death certificate gives his parents as "Reason Meek" and "Mitilda McElory".
See Missouri death certificates 1940 # 11870
The informant on the death certificate is his widow.

Link to the death certificate:

Family Search at:

In the 1880 census shows Jay Q Meek's parents to be Reason and Matilda Meek.

also at:
the 1870 census shows Jay Meek's parents to be Reason and Matilda Meeks.

If you have sourced information to the contrary please share it.

Thank you,

Would appreciate a reply when you can.

RE: Elizabeth Pulse Shaller
All memorials that you maintain allow you to show the cemetery (sign) photos or not. Any memorials you maintain that show a photo of the cemetery or a picture of the cemetery sign has a note below it (the cemetery photo) that says "Don't show cemetery photos on this memorial [?]" and then the name of the person who took the cemetery or cemetery sign photo. On the memorial that you are asking about you now maintain it, and the cemetery photo that I took is showing. If you do not want the cemetery sign photo to show on this memorial you click on that link (Don't show cemetery photos on this memorial [?]). Then the cemetery sign photo will no long show. This does not in any way stop a photo for the tombstone to be posted to this memorial.
If you would like FindAGraves explanation hover over the [?] on the memorial with your mouse.
Let me know if this explains this any better to you.

RE: Elizabeth Pulse Shaller
I did not add the memorial, nor do I manage it, so I do not have any way to restrict anything on the memorials and I have not restricted anything.
The only thing I have added is a picture of the cemetery sign.
Not sure what you are talking about.

RE: Ward graves
I didn't have any luck finding the graves of Elias and Mercy Belle Watson. I went back to the cemetery three times. Buried next to Martha and Clarence Ward are Lawrence L. 1900-1989 and Blanche M. Ward 1909-1994.
