RE: Jonathan Brian Markey #27216900
Hi Marla,

Since you are indeed a relative to Jonathan Brian Markel, then that makes you and I of some very distant associated family link. Jonathan's maternal grandfather, Lt. Col. James Fella Hill was the only child of James Garfield Hill and Amelia Louise Fella. James Garfield Hill was a brother to Anna Hill, who married Joseph Louis Mackey, and Anna and Joe were my paternal grandparents. So, hello distant, distant cousin! Should you possibly enjoy any additional family link information, I would be delighted to share.

Best Wishes,
Janet Mackey-Bodine

Jonathan Brian Markey #27216900
Hello Marla,

I just wanted to ask if you might actually be related to Jonathan Brian Markel # 27216900? I have some additional family link information if anyone might have an interest - his maternal grandfather was Lt. Col. James Fella Hill (1911-1950) who was never recovered as a Prisoner during the the Korean Conflict. There is a memorial marker for James Fella Hill in Spencer County, Indiana - # 38894537.

Janet Mackey-Bodine

PS - Jonathan's birthdate was May rather than March - data was in error in original Find A Grave post.

J. Dressler
Hello, You left flowers on the grave of J. Dressler and mentioned he was your 4xgr-grandfather. I am trying to determine whether that same J. Dressler is my 5x-gr-grandfather. My line would be through his daughter Barbara. If you are willing to compare notes and share info, please e-mail me at
Thank you, Liz

The Hoover/Dillon's
I found your address on the Find a Grave website-What a creepy name. It seems we have some relatives in common. The Dillon's

Sarah Ella/Richard Proudfoot are my great-great grandparents. Their daughter, Gail Hoover is my great-grandmother. Her son Lucien Liston is my grandfather and his eldest daughter Alice Gail Liston is my mother.

I would love to hear how we are related and wonder if you have information on that side
of the family that perhaps I don't have.

Vicki (Markel) Michel
I'm part of the Markel family
Dear Marla,
My name is Vicki (Markel) Michel. Harry Edward Markel and Ada Russell Dundas Markel are my paternal grandparents. My dad Earl was their fourth son. I live in Pretty Prairie, Kansas as does my brother Edward. We are both very interested in family history and are interested in getting acquainted with other family members. We are especially interested in learning how you are related. I have been fascinated with the information that you have contributed to this website. For example, I had no idea how many brothers and sisters my grandpa Markel had. Unfortunately, he died when my dad was 14 so what I know about him is limited. I have also enjoyed seeing the pictures you posted. I really enjoyed seeing the picture of my greatgrandparents, Isaac and Anna Dressler Markel on her 80th birhtday. Please contact me at: Looking forward to hearing from you!
