I believe we might be related distantly - if you are also a great granddaughter of Roger de Montgomery, you are a cousin of mine.
He is my 30th great grandfather as well.
Same generation?
would love to connect

no he does not. He is buried at Buffalo Baptist Church. No Tombstone. Only his mother and father has a Tombstone. (I think) William Lerory Seegars is the son of William Seegars and Margaret Cato

RE: Benjamin Haight
Hi Nancy, sorry about the wrong Benjamin. I do know where the Wing Cemetary is located. I am originally from Marienville but live in Dover DE now. I think I am making a trip north in a couple of weeks so I'll try to get the right one for you then. Bruce Pierce

Hi, sorry about that. Old habit of learning to type with an actual typewriter...and I taught computers...shame, shame.
We share a great great great grandparents. James Knox Polk Craven and Lavina (Lovina) Musser were the parents of Lucinda Craven, my great great grandmother, who was the parents of Lavina Fuller - Hammond, my great grandmother, who was the mother of my grandmother, Vadnew Hammond - Cusenza. My mother was Vadnew's eldest.

Do you have a web site or family tree online? I would love to compare notes. I have a tree on Ancestry it is:
The link takes you to James Knox Polk Cravens page.

You are welcome. I took that picture two years ago. I'm planning to go back next weekend but I'm
afraid the name has worn off by now. I go through Richard myself. I also posted a picture of his wife Margaret to.

RE: Richard McCallister
Im planning to go back this weekend with some chalk and see if I can get some more info on a couple of stones in the cemetery. I will send you pics of some of the McCallisters in the cemetery. There are probably 6 or 7.

RE: Mary Ransom and family
Nancy - first I agree the grave markers are most unusual. I finally found a web site this morning that shows Catawba Co. Cemetery Indexes. It was printed by the Catawba Co., Genealogical Society. They had Matt listed under her maiden name Ransom.

Maybe a relative closer in the family's line will want to maintain Mary's memorial.

Thanks for your work and thanks for asking.

I have just added 1 of Mary and Robert Ransom's daughters to FindAGrave - it is Matt Clary Ransom McCorkle #78542750, unfortunately I have been unable find the name of the cemetery. DC just showed Newton NC but her husband - John Macon McCorkle is buried at Eastview in Newton NC

You'll need to use the edit tab to send this request to the person who manages the memorial (I didn't create it).

Oh, you are welcome. This headstone in a very short time will not be able to read. It has worn off so back I could not read it at the cemetery, only when I saw the picture could I read it.
