Sharon Wallen
Oliver Wombles d. 1925
I had not found Oliver's death certificate on the Missouri Secretary of State website, so went looking at other family trees for another possible death date. I found the date to be correct but other people show that he died in Kansas City, Wyandotte, Kansas. You might want to check and make sure which is right.

Murphys in St. Peters Cemetery
I've added a marginally better grave pic to the records of John Murphy (#49017101) and his wife Margaret. Still not great, but readable at least.

RE: Memorial# 115749877
I am surprised Find A Grave has not done so, normally they do so automatically when a memorial is given the "Famous" status.

RE: Leta June Gordy Scott Memorial# 63901492
Hillcrest Cemetery is somewhat troubled. The same company owns several cemeteries across SE Iowa and they are all managed from one small understaffed office. Their burial records are known to be incomplete and to contain errors.

The Genealogical Society in Ft. Madison has walked the cemeteries and recorded grave markers they've found. They've obviously found a grave marker that isn't included in the cemetery records.

Unfortunately that isn't surprising. If you'd like to contact the cemetery office to see about having them update their records, here's their web site:

Leta Scott
Hi, it says in her obituary that she is buried in Hillcrest cemetery in Ft. Madison and she is in the cemetery records at the library at Ft. Madison. I have a picture of her gravestone and will add it to the memorial. Jessica

Tammy: You are Welcome. I was just passing on the info I got from the book that the Kansas City Genealogy Society had made and the cemetery office gave me to look at, that went to only 1969. I did not go to the plot as the weather has been cold and raining here. Again the plot is in old section 4 / 3r / s2 grave 23. I will go and look when the weather is better. I have some free time next week and will try and get a photo of the plot or if book was wrong and a marker is there I will get a photo of it. The old section is not where they were putting the Infant or children as I known. ( I had a sister die after 3 days in 1940's) and the infant section is between new section 1 and section 2 along the fence. I will look there also. Take care.

Thank you Tammy for the use of your photos without having to ask permission first, it is appreciated. Memorial 54499249 has a misspelled last name, can you correct it? It is the same person as memorial 81235360 by another contributor.
Thank you,

Arthur Leroy Biggs
Thank you for posting my grandfather's grave marker. It was so amazing to see. I did not know who my grandfather was until after my grandmother passed away. Mr. Biggs and my grandmother had a relationship, but were never married - my mother was born into that relationship. Because my Grandmother kept everything about him a secret, it took me a while to locate him after her passing. She had letters and references to him. My Mother has since connected with her half brother and they have a relationship now. It's wonderful for her as she was an only child. Are you related to the Biggs in any way?
Thank you again, Lucinda

Hi, I am Gabe Hoover mother,my son Jon called me and told me about this site. You have no idea how happy I am to see that someone has done this. When someone passes they are forgotten in time but all they have to do is look up his name and there he is.It brought tears to my eyes but they were good. Not a day goes by that I don't think about Gabe. Thank You for your site it is a comfort. Take care and my God be with you.
