RE: William Wolcott Shea
Hi Melissa,

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I would that would be nice to manage his site (if you don't mind). I am putting a picture of he and my dad, John Dwight "Mike" on the site. I also have a picture of Uncle Wolcott when he probably in his late 30's. I just have to locate it. It's somewhere in the house.

Again many thanks for getting back to me. I hope you have a great weekend!

With Warmest Regard,
Cathleen "Mickie" Philip

I went to the cemetery today on my lunch break so I could speak with someone. They do not give info to non family members, so he is now my 'distant uncle'. But, really, aren't we all ultimately related? ;-) They took me to the location and it is where I suspected it was. It is a location with new grass and no headstone. They confirmed it is his location, in a double deep grave as apparently his spouse is still living. I will be there from time to time and will drop by again in a month or so and see if the headstone has been put in. Regards, Paige.

Leo is located at Plot G, Row 6, Grave 33. If you would like to add this info to your request. I've claimed the photo, but won't take the picture for the next 10 days and just incase something happens and I don't make it there I thought if you posted the location, it would help the next person.

Memorial Park Memphis, TN

I walked the entire Sunnyslope section this afternoon and did not find George's grave. I will return during the day and see if I can get the exact location from the office staff.

Paige.

RE: Grace Looney
Hey Melissa, me again, I am sorry for bothering you with another question. If Shirley does not want to talk with me, could you get your niece to ask her what was her great grandfather Giles O. Looney (he is also my great grandfather) what his first wife's name was. She would be Robert Looney and Bertie Looney's biological mother. It is not Arena, she is his second wife. Also, did he and Arena have any children? It has been really hard to find out anything on my grandmother's family and I am so excited that I have at least found a link. Thank you again, you have been very sweet to help me out.

Ask your niece if Shirley would be okay with me speaking to her directly. If not, I will understand. Thank you Melissa!

Thank you Melissa, I would love to talk to someone but I understand the hesitation on it. We do not know that side of my grandmother's family and I am afraid that we will never know as the people that do have some info pass away. Thank you so much for your help and thank you for sending the invite to the tree, I was able to get into it.

Have a Blessed day!

Bonnie

Hi Melissa!!!! Thank you for your info, could you please send the tree invitation to my new email address, rballard@centurylink.net I am not on ancestry.com at this time but I should be able to open it if you send it to my new email account. We switched email carriers so we had to take a new email address. I am so excited about getting this information. I could not find if Grace had any children or not and I could not find any children for her two sisters either. Thank you again and I am looking forward to receiving the tree invitataion.

God Bless You!!!

RE: Grace Looney
Hi Melissa!!! Thank you so much for this info. So Grace's son or daughter is your niece's husband's mom or dad, right? What is their name? Please send the invitation to the tree to rballard@centurylink.net this is my new email address. Is there anyone on that side of the family that would be interested in corresponding with me either through email or phone to give me info on Grace and her family? Grace's dad, Robert Looney was my grandmother's brother and their dad was married a couple of times but I cannot find Robert's biological mother's name, his second wife was named Arena and they lived here in Franklin County Virginia up until they died. I know (or think) at one time they lived in Washington state. I am so excited about finally finding someone who is related to this side of my family. I really appreciate anything that you can do for me! Thank you so much again!!!!!

Grace Looney Schrock
Hi Melissa! I am researching my ancestors and found where Grace Looney Schrock is buried and your name attached to the info. She was my second cousin and I am hitting a brick wall as far as tracing her children and her sisters' children, I do not know any of their names. I know she had a sister, Laura and a sister Lucille. Her dad was my dad's uncle. I am hoping that you can shed some light on this for me. I appreciate any help you can give me and I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Have a Blessed evening!!!

RE: Jasper McKay
Thank you.
I thought that Jasper NcKay was the brother of Catherine Tucker McKay.
Do you know what happened to Jacob Herod? I lose track of him in Mississippi.

Jasper McKay is the half brother of James Tucker Herod

The Herod and Tucker family were connected in Tennessee through Jacob's aunt Jennifer Jenny Herod who married John Tucker

Are the McKay family from Tennessee?

RE: Jasper McKay
Amazing. jacob Herod (Herrod) is my 3rd great grandmothers brother
I want to tell you that the surname of Herod is the correct spelling. Jacob's son changed the spelling to Herrod possibly because there were quite a few James Herod's in the area.

Adultery in 1863, shocking even today.

In the 1860 Carroll County Census this family is living with a part of my Herod family.

James & Mary Ann Shea
Hi Melissa, Thanks for understanding. According to the 1910 census, J. William Shea was previously married. I know nothing of the circumstances or if there were other children. All I know about him was that the Washington Post said he was from Denver. The census just said he was born in the United States. His obit only mentions the 3 children from his marriage to Mary Ann. Our family seems to believe that his father Daniel Shea was a survivor of the 7th cavalry. I have no facts to back that up, though there was a Daniel Shea who did. J William was a lawyer and he married Mary Ann on July 1, 1903. Their first child W. Wolcott was born in D.C. in 1904. Their second child was John D. Did you know that their 3rd son Robert E just died? He is buried at Arlington Nat'l Cemetery, as is Wolcott. I have been trying to connect up with him for years through the superintendent of Oak Hill Cemetery. I wanted to compare what he knew of Mary Ann's Sommerville family history. I know he had letters that William Sommerville wrote. Too late now.
Thanks for letting me know that there are Shea family members still out there.
Connie
