Copyright attempt of pictures
Why do you bother to attempt to copyright pictures that many researchers like to view ? We have ancestry trees that share many, many limbs of ancestral trees. People like you attempt to stifle the good intentions of other researchers who like to do research and share it. I have hundreds of old family pictures that no one else has, and I love to share them with other researchers. If you don't want to share, quit ! Feel free to sue me !

RE: Gladys and Victor Burton

I am working on the Burton line and found all the siblings of Victor. I just cannot find where James John Milton "Bunyan" and Susan Frances Lynn Burton are buried. Most of this family was in NM where I live and some in Texas and Oklahoma. Been trying to find death records of them too but no luck so far. Will let you know if I find anything. You do have the information correct on the Coffey side. Debra

Hi Sherri,

You're welcome. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I removed the photo you requested. Did you find the Hiles connection?

Sherri, I'll just delete the picture and let someone with more experience retake it. Sorry I didn't take a better picture for you.

RE: Kenny Ledford
Sherri I was more than happy to do it. That day I had real issues with the darn sun so it's probably how I had to stand at different angels to get a good pic with all the engraving in the shot. I can assure you it's is perfectly centered. We pass that way minimum every 4-6 weeks and I'll try to get a centered pix on a not so sun shiny day. Thank for allowing me the honor of doing this for
your fanily, Sincerely, Leslie

I hope you do not mind that I took. And posted different shots of the Groundd but I like to make it so the family feels like they are there.

Hello Sherri - I am sorry but there was no marker for Josephine. I walked around the entire area and looked at all of the markers, and there was no marker.

I have included area shots and the plot marker so you can see the area where she is buried. I cannot provide an exact location because I do not have the plot information for the existing markers to pinpoint the locations within a few feet. This happen a lot here in regards to there being no markers. I am sorry that I could not do more.

Best regards - Laurel

I apologize I didn't get the pictures posted timely. We went out to the new VA Cemetary and took them but then had a family emergency. I hope you are happy with the ones I put up tonight. It is a beautiful resting place for our veterans, very peaceful and surrounded by nothing but agriculture!

Coffee - Gillespie
Sherri, I am really confused. I can pull up all 3 memorials. One for Paulene Gillespie, one for A. Roy Gillespie and one for Rueben Coffee.
Portales Cemetery, USA, New Mexico, Roosevelt County. Joyce Gore Locke is the one who created the memorial. I just posted the photos on Rueben Coffee at your request. The photos on Gillespie are posted by someone else. Joyce has created lots of memorials in this cemetery and I don't understand why you can't see them. I just looked at them.
Joyce's email address is
Let me know if I can help further.

RE: Gladys A Coffee Burton and Victor O. Burton
Thank you for your thoughtful note. I plan to visit the cemetery very soon. This is also a hint for volunteers who go to large cemeteries. I got a copy of each section of Memorial Park Cemetery from the cemetery's office. It has the blocks and in some cases the lots identified. Each of the sections is inclosed in one of those plastic sheet protectors and all are in a folder with a copy of the entire cemetery in the front of the folder. I numbered the sections on the main map and then put the corresponding numbers on each of the individual section maps. When I claimed the Burtons yesterday, I found the correct section map. I then marked where you told me to look for them. Now when I go find them they will be easier to find because all I need to do is check the map. After I find them, I'll wet a paper towel and just erase my notes on them and the map is ready to be used again. This has saved me a lot of time when I have claimed a bunch of graves. To have to walk all over the place looking for a grave can be very time consuming. Again, thank you so much for your message.

Sherri, I just looked again and A. Roy Gillespie is there with a photo and there is an E. Paulene Gillespie, not E. Lucille. Are they the ones that you are looking for? They are there in Portales Cemetery with photos. The photos were also taken by Joyce Locke Gore.
If you have more questions about it and if I can help you, let me know.

Reuben Coffey - Gillespie
Sherri, I did not create the memorial for your Reuben Coffey. I just added the pictures. If you will notice on the memorial you will see that it was created by Joyce Locke Gore. She will be able to transfer him to you. Just click on her name and leave her a message. About the Gillespies, I do not see them at the Portales Cemetery. There are a couple of Gillespies, but not the names you mentioned. If the memorial is not there any longer I would just create a new one. If you need pictures after you create the memorial, I will be happy to get them for you, if you will just let me know.

RE: Thank you for photos of Maude Graham
Always glad to help obtain obits and photos.

Most obits I get from the microfilm files of the San Angelo Standard Times, located below the Porter Henderson Library at Angelo State University.

Maude's was easier to obtain. I got the copy of the obit from the cemetery office. The obituary was most likely published in the San Angelo Standard Times.

RE: Josephine Thorn
Hi Sherri - This is great! They don't always give information to callers. You must have been very persuasive ;) Just place the information in the plot field on Josephine's memorial. Any volunteers in the area will see it on the request. On the list of photo requests, the plot information shows up, if it has been added to the memorial.

There is no formal process. There is currently one volunteer who does get requests at Restlawn and I occasionally go here when there are absolutely no other volunteers. Please be patient, someone will come along and fill it. Probably when it cools down a bit. Been in the 100's here lately or since June actually.

Thank you - Laurel

RE: Gladys Hennings & Josephine Thorn
Hello Sherri,

You are welcome!

Regarding your photo request at Restlawn. Restlawn is a large cemetery. Unless a volunteer has the plot information, it is impossible to find a marker. You would have to contact the cemetery yourself to try and get this information. This information is on the Restlawn Cemetery page.

They will not give this information out to volunteers and can be quite mean to us when we go in their office (The only time I did, I was yelled at..."You researchers come in here expecting us to do all the work and you get paid all that money...." Uh? I explained that I am a volunteer and do not get paid. It did not help.

Without the plot info, your request may stay open for years, which is why there are so many open requests at this cemetery.

If you do manage to get the information from this cemetery, it should come in 4 parts. A section Letter or Garden name, Block, Plot, Space
there are a couple of sections that are in 3 parts or one of the 2 mausoleums.

4 part example:
-Last Supper Garden, Block 2, Lot 40, Space 5
-Section A, Block 4, Lot 20, Space 6

3 part example - Chapel Garden, Lot 230, Space 4

Mausoleum - Chapel Mausoleum, Crypt 230

Good luck! -- Laurel

RE: Gladys Hennings
Hi Sherri - I just realized that the memorial was a VA upload. And you probably have a lot of information to add to Gladys' memorial.

If you contact admin. at put --VA transfer-- in the subject line and place the link to the memorial, your member number, and then state your relationship, they are usually willing to transfer these memorials if you have information to add. You can try.

I claimed your request for your father's marker.

I see your father was born in Reydon in 1922. Did he live there long?. My husband's father Glen was raised in Reydon, he was also born in 1922. He is buried in Ceres Cemetery. Not sure if you have been to Reydon, in the High School all the students photos still hang for all the years. Also there is a war memorial for all that has served from the county.

Doug has many cousin that still live in the area. Doug's father was the only one that moved his family to California. We attend a family reuion a year ago April.

Thank care
