I spoke to the caretaker at Belle Isle he does not have any burials for McQueen's. If they did not have a marker at the time of death it is possible they were buried there. He did have some McQueen's buried in Maplewood Cemetery in Camillus and in Robbins Sherwood Cemetery.

Did you see this? It was published in the Messenger in 2004:
Searching for information on McQueen family
To the editor:
I am looking for anyone that
may have information related to
the McQueens, who lived in
Onondaga County during the
period 1800 to 1839. My greatgrandfather,
was born in Onondaga in October
1807. He married Mary Ann
Bowman Jan. 1, 1828 and they
were in the Salina Census in
1830. William, their oldest son,
was born Jan. 6, 1831, and my
grandmother, Lucy McQueen,
was born Oct. 30, 1837 in
Baldwinsville (do not have
Does anyone in the area know
of church records of this family?
William must have had some
brothers and sisters who lived in
The William McQueen family
and James Bowman family left
Canton in October of 1838 via the
Erie Canal. We have searched for
some 30 years without being able
to find who the parents of William
McQueen were or any
cemetery locations for the
McQueens. Does anyone know
where the McQueens are buried?
In the 1799 tax records, there
was a Peter McQueen and we do
know that in 1807, the Bowmans
came to Onondaga County and
they had a daughter, Betsy
(Elizabeth), who married a Peter
McQueen. Peter died in the 1830s.
The listing of his children does
not include William. Peter may
have been married prior to
marrying Betsy Bowman, since in
the 1810 Census, he had a
number of children 10 years of
age and younger. If anyone has
any information regarding this,
we would appreciate hearing
At the same time that Peter was
living in Onondaga, Daniel
McQueen also lived there. He was
married to. Lamberson? And she
evidently died prior to Daniel
moving to St. Clair, Mich, in the
1820s. In the listing of their
children, we do not find a William.
There was an older man living
with William McQueen and John
McQueen in the 1830 Census of
Salina. I have found that in the
poorhouse records of Onondaga,
a John McQueen died at the
County Farm on Nov. 10, 1835.
He was 72 years of age. Could he
have had a son William?

Your welcome. I also added several of their children. Have not found older Grace as of yet. Unfortunately this older section many stones are deteriorated and hard or impossible to read. Took many photos before I moved, but trying to make out more. Not sure if aware of this site. http://www.saratoganygenweb.com/balvilM.htm

Hi, I am glad to make the changes you asked for but the edit button is the better choice for edits, not the bio page. If you would like transfer of these family members, I would be glad to do that also.

You have the wrong photo on the memorial for John Robertson d 1880 married to Nancy McQueen. The photo of John M Robertson of Algonac is actually the NEPHEW of John and Nancy Robertson. Here is a link to the John M Robertson whose photo you have posted:
You can contact me for more information.

I can't add Lucinda as Tristram's daughter, because the format doesn't allow for that, but you are welcome to add Tristram as Lucinda's father; his number is #39024426.

I believe Lucinda to be my 2ggrandmother. I am tying to tie her daughter, Nancy Thankful 1857-1942, tighter in my tree. Do you have any first hand knowledge and/or do you know of any living relative of hers that may have more info. Do you know anything of the supposed Native American background?
Thanks so much!

Norman doesn't seem to want to be found. He is not listed on the roster that is posted in the cemetery, so I asked in the cemetery office. The man looked, then he looked again - nothing. We tried to think of different spellings (and were not very successful).
I had hoped to post a photo for you today, so sorry to be of no help. On a better note - it was a fabulous day!

|Lee Ashmore||Samuel Hopkins & Mary Smith|
The above descend from the Scotch-Irish line of James and Jean Hopkins. See my virtual cemeteries for the different Hopkins lines.
I'm researching the Hopkins from England > RI > Long Island, NY > North Castle, Westchester Co., NY.
Mostly named Thomas & William.
Samuel is a Mayflower Hopkins name as is Merritt.
Will do some more research on your Samuel & Esther.
Thanks for your e-mail,
