Samuel F. Black
I feel very certain that this Samuel F. Black is the son of William Black and Sarah Stevens. The Black family records show that Samuel had a son named Jonathan Black who was a soldier that died in the Civil War. In 1880, William Morley Black, his cousin, baptized him by proxy in the Mormon (LDS) Temple at St. George. Well, I just learned from a Civil War pension index that Jonathan's father Samuel filed a family survivor's pension for his sons's war service from the State of Missouri in 1892 which proves that Samuel did move from the State of Ohio to Missouri. If you want I can provide a image which shows this.

Therefore, I will be sending you a request to link Samuel to his parents on findagrave.

Roe - Mt Calvery
Hi Mary,

You are very welcome .. and don't fret about, as you put it, wasting my time! This happens sometimes.

Add to that a not-so-helpful cemetery staff member and it sometimes gets very challenging to get that picture!

Take care and
Happy holidays!

Pete
