Lucye Hylton Porter Mottley
Hello! Thank you for your help in posting more memorials here! I have a family who's graveyard is located in Bath County. Lucye was mentioned but no marriage found. Then I literally stumbled upon this memorial. She was the daughter of Andrew Sitlington Porter and Lucie Edwin Rucker Porter. Their Find A Grave number is 104798712 and 104799133 respectively. Thank you again for your efforts in preserving our nations history!

The photo should be posted now to the Memorial page. Thanks for your service to our Country. My father is retired from the Navy. He spent almost 21 years on subs.

Monticello Memorial Park
I noticed you have some photo request for Monticello Memorial Park. I have been there once and was thinking about going maybe in the fall. I see you have the plot location for some of your request. How did you get that information? Is there an online map or list that would help me locate the graves?

Also I noticed some of the Marshall photos you requested have been posted under the husband's memorial.

Thank you so very much. One of the things that my husband and I wanted to do was to visit the graves in that area of the country. That will not happen now since he passed away in January, but I am still working on his family. This means a lot to me, as I know it would have to him, too. Again, thank you so very much.

Stewart at Adamsville
Hello. While at Adamsville cemetery in Mason county, WV today I happened to see a Stewart that wasn't listed on the site buried in the old area of the cemetery. I added his memorial #115429196 and photo. I assumed you might be interested. I would be happy to transfer him, if you wish.
Have a good day.

Thanks for the update on her parents links.
I forgot to include the year of her birth, 1870.

Milla is my 4th cousin 3x removed. I appreciate the offer of transfer, but I don't think it's needed.

Thanks again,

Larry Mabra

Thank you so much for the information and I removed my request. It is very sad all those men did not get a proper burial.

Alvah Phillips Topping
Hi Ron,
You have a Alvah Phillips Topping buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Newport News, Virginia. I have a lot of Phillips and Toppings in my family tree but do not see a connection my tree. Who are her parents? Who was her husband?

Thanks. I've added the wife.
Just so happened, I was on line the same time you were sending updates, so it worked out good. I'm not related to the Morris's, so if you would like any of them transferred, let me know.

RE: John Stewart, memorial 112406754
Hi Ron,
Yes I have been to Oak Grove and need to do some more work on verification and such. I currently have 120 photos that I took there and need to obtain info before posting to Find A Grave. I generally photograph the whole cemetery and try to read info on pic and match to Find A Grave, however, this is pretty old cemetery and lots of hard to read markers, thus the 120 pics. I am sure I will be back in the next two to three weeks and I can double check that marker for John Stewart for you.
Typically when I do complete cemeteries I generally run across a few names that aren't in the Find A Grave registry, and add them. I do some work with Ladon Brennon and she is more of the Henry County historian and will add bio info and links, so it's easier for me to add the name, add a marker photo and transfer to Ladon for her to work on. When she is done she'll usually transfer back. That was the case for John Stewart. I'm sure she will transfer to you.
If you have photographed old markers, you know, some just don't show up in pic, it is somewhat unfortunate that Find A Grave won't let us use chalk or shave cream to highlight the marker info. There will be several photos for Oak Grove that people will just have to take my word that that's the name on marker. Some are hard to read even when eyeballs are 6" from the marker. I stopped by about a week ago and of course the only person with key to Oak Grove was on a three day weekend. My typical luck. Anyway, if there is anything else, let me know.
