Are you inactive?
The last here is a couple of years old. Some of your memorials need to be moved to Ashton cemetery and it would be helpful to know if you are still actively managing your memorials.

thanks

James Cheatham
I don't have an absolute answer as to which cemetery James is buried at. I have spoken with Alix Dempster at Old Gray Cem. and her records do not indicate if James is interred there or not. I have been out to Mountainview Cemetery where the Maloney home was located (there is now a prison there). I could not find a marker for James there but hope to get back there soon to take more photos and I will look for him then. The property next to Mountainview is shown as the Poor Cemetery(Maloney ?) on old maps and it's possible this is where he was buried. When I was at this cemetery several years back it appeared that all the markers had been pulled up and were piled up in the back corner of the property under a tree. Will let you know if I find anything.

It Matters
RE: Virgil Bohannon
The Springfield Cemetery Directory that is available to the public lists only the name and the location of the grave. Virgil Bohannon's grave is listed as being in Block 4 Lot 102 Space 7. There are vacant areas in that lot, meaning there are no grave markers. I don't know if there are graves there, but I am assuming there probably are.

I photographed a very small and badly deteriorated cement marker in that area, but there is no wording left on the marker. I would be happy to email it to you if you'd like to see it.

I regret having no more information to pass along.

Sincerely,

Donna Lacy
