Hey cousin,

I've transfered the memorials to your care. Do with them as you will. You are more closely related to them than I am.

Sincerely,
Bronwyn

Charles M. Johnson
Hi Carol,

I live in Sweden and are looking for my great grandfather's brother Charles M. Johnson and his family in USA. Carl Magnus Johansson (Johannesson) was born December 31, 1858 in Färgelanda, Älvsborgs län (Dalsland). He emigrated from Sweden in 1879 and left for New York on June 20 from the port of Kristiania (now Oslo, Norway).

In USA he married Elina Maria Olofsdotter, born March 15, 1857 in Jämjö, Blekinge län. She emigrated alone in April 29, 1887 from Jämjö.

Elina and Charles had a daughter Selma Johnson, born January 30, 1889 in Bayonne, Hudson Co, New Jersey.

Elina had also a child Ruth Agnes Elina Carlsson, born March 15, 1885 in Jämjö. When Elina visit Sweden in 1891 she brought her 6 years old daughter to USA.

Paulina (Norton) Cappers
Carol---I, too, am just starting to research Paulina. You do know that she married Andrew Hanson, didn't you? I think it was in Dec. of 1870. He is in her household on the 1870 Census as a "boarder," I believe (Wisconsin).

I am actually wanting to find her descendants, as I think they may have some photos of Samuel H. Norton and his family.

Paulina was living in Belvidere, Boone County, IL at the time of her father's death (Samuel H. Norton), so I imagine she took possession of some of his things---especially photos. I know my g-Grandpa John Gower Norton got the portrait of his brother Samuel, who died in the Civil War, as it's still in the possession of my cousin.

Anything that I find, I'll let you know. I saved your email address, from here.

Abraham Cappers
Carol, I just looked in Anc.com and in the KS census March 1, 1875 Abram Cappers lived in White Rock, Republic Co., KS with wife Elizabeth. He was 37 and was born in Maine. On June 26, 1880 he was in Prairie View, Phillips Co., KS.

RE: Photo
Carol, I live in Smith Co., KS. If you think Abraham Cappers is buried in Phillips or Republic county, I suggest you contact libraries in either Phillipsburg or Washington, KS.

Hi Carol,
This infant would be the first child of Charles Johnson and Kristina Sofia Magnusson (my great grandparents). Just curious, where is your branch on this tree??

Catherine Ault
Hi Carol,

The only Catherine Ault in my family tree (which is actually my husband's family tree) was born in about 1914, so I'm not quite sure we are researching the same Ault families. Maybe we can compare notes and see if they are extensions somewhere of the same tree! :)

Hi Carol,

Like I said, there is a small stone with father on it. If it is the father of Elias he would have to been born at least 20 yrs earlier. 1824?

Hi Carol,
I found the graves and took photos and added them. Mary and Elias share the same large monument. I was not able to get a good picture of Mary's side because of the way the sun was shining at that time so I'll try again for her at a different time. There son has a huge monument right next to them and there is also a small stone next to their stone marked FATHER.

Thanks,
Jean
