RE: Sinks
Hi! Nice to meet a new cousin! :) I, unfortunately, do not know where Delilah Hickerkson and Drewry Sinks are buried. I also did not know who her parents were! Do you have information on their family that you'd be willing to share with me? Thank you!

Correction made.
First name was Henry. I can see why the initial could be taken as a W on the gravestone but it is actually an H with a period after it. His wife and son are also buried in this cemetery. I've done quite a bit of research on my Hickerson line. Thanks.

RE: Question

You have to use a hyperlink such as the one below. Once the language below is copied and pasted into the respective bio section, and you "save," the word "Memorial" will be added to the bio as a hyperlink, without showing all the symbols/unwanted text.

Thank you for that information.

RE: Just dropped by to say hello
Hello Melinda. That is very kind of you to reach out and say hello. I love to hear from family, even if it is from a "4th cousin." You are right, I am descended from Madison through my father Dudley Parks. His mother (my grandmother) is Virginia Josephine "Chastain" Parks. Her father Joseph Pinkney Chastain is Madison's son. He and his wife are buried in Caney, Kansas.
Now, I am no longer a paid subscriber to I had it for about 10 years but felt I exhausted my searches so I dropped my subscription. However, I still add information, like this, when I come across it. I would be honored to add the info you just gave me, to my family tree.
I am also on facebook under Gary Wayne Parks in Albuquerque, NM in case you may be interested. I will put your message into my "family tree" file.
Have an awesome week ahead. :)

RE: Pvt E. J. Simmons

You are welcome. It was a pleasure to photograph E. J. Simmons' headstone. But foremost it is a privilege to pay homage to ancestors who served and died for their beliefs.

I took quite a few pictures at that cemetery lately and looks for that stone. If it is there it is no longer legible. The area that it is listed at has just slivers of stone as markers for some. Sorry!

Melinda, you're more than welcome. I imagine you are probably related to my aunt Sue (Simmons) Overby. I've not traced her family back this far, but assumed they must be related.

RE: Your great grandmother Nannie Simmons
My grandmother, Mattie Nunn Rogers, was Louisa Wade Hill Nunn's great granddaughter. It's fascinating to realize that one is related to people all over the country.

Your great grandmother Nannie Simmons
Dear Melinda: I was just reading on another profile page where you mentioned your great grandmother was Nannie Hill Simmons. My great-great-great grandmother was Louisa Wade Hill Nunn, sister to your great-great grandfather, Nathaniel Davis "Nat" Hill, Sr.
