Cooksey inquiry
Hello,

This is a strange request. But, I just had a DNA match come in today for a Cooksey who descends from Norton Cooksey. He's a rather significant match since he also matches our dad's 1st cousin.

I emailed him using the email address he provided, but it bounced. I hate to see anyone test and never get their results.

When you answer this message, I'll leave you my email address, and then delete it.

Minnie Lorain Cox Cooksey
Minnie's mothers name was Frances Kate Head Cox Cooksey. Minnie's sister was Gertrude Cox.
"Kate" was married to Richard Aubra Cox and had Minnie and Gertrude, Richard died Sept 22, 1922 and is buried at the Jester Cem. After Richard died Kate married John Cooksey. So John did not adopt Minnie or Gertrude so there names would be Cox. Gertrude was married several times, Alvie Turbiville (sp?) then Chester Akins and then I believe when Gertrude died in Ok city her name was Wilson?
Kate was born in Alabama or Arkansas?? I don't remember it, it has been a while since I have been looking. My mother and her twin sis were taken in by john and Kate when they were abt 6 after there mother died so I guess you could say they were foster children. Gertrude was still at home at the time and of course Minnie passed before then.
Just FYI

# 14147528 needs merged
Hello Jenean, I just noticed that the above memorial number for Dr. John Airhart Bake is the same as #95273033 and needs to be merged. Cemetery records show Dr. John Airhart Baker with the identical birth and death dates. Thank you for your contribution to FindAGrave. Cousin Emily

Hi JeanAnn, Don't know if you remember me or are able to do the coffee thing--we will be down there from Dec 6th to the 15th of Dec. Coming via train from Spokane, will take about 35-40 hours so those dates are allowing for the 2 days each way that we are losing.
We are very excited!! Both zoos, Balboa, Navy, A great brother that I haven't seen in a very long time! Little Italy! If you find yourself unable to keep the date--no problem. Please don't worry about it if that is the case. I appreciate the offer anyway. My cell number is 509-795-6307
Sue
P.S, Will be staying at The Howard Johnson on Hotel Circle.

Hi, do you want me to not upload the photos to Find A Grave? Just send them to you? Or do you want me both upload to Find A Grave and send them to you? Sue

Hi, glad I can help. Yes, all are at Fairmount. I took several photos of all because they are in square formation. Thought you might like to see the overall pic. In addition to their individual photos.
San Diego--my brother lives there. Works for the Navy. We're thinking about visiting him hopefully this December. Sue

Hi Jeanean,

Thanks for the info. No one in block 468 shows up in the grave locator so I will update my records. With over 350,000 people (at least) buried in that cemetery it's a lot of work keeping up with everyone!

Salome Grable Baker
Hello Jeanean,
Can you tell me if the Sarah Salome Grable, daughter of Samuel Grable and Hannah Earhardt is the same woman as Salome Grable, wife of Jacob Studebaker who is buried at Poplar Grove Cemetery. According to the will of Samuel Grable, he mentions his daughter, Sarah Studebaker, wife of Jacob Studebaker. Records show that she is buried in McLean County, Kentucky in 1848. I had previously had Salome Nettie Grable's father as Phillip Grable, but Phillip Grable is a son of Samuel Grable who was born in 1773 and Salome was born in 1777, therefore she would be a brother. In records of Samuel Grable's children born in Redstone, Fayette, Pennsylvania, Sarah Salome Grable was born in 1767. This is ten years earlier than what the records show for Salome "Nettie" Grable. I also wonder where the Nettie comes in, but that is a name that was linked to Salome. I just need some clarification, since Salome is the only Studebaker who died in McLean County in 1848, wife of Jacob. I am descended from their son, David, through Jacob Israel Baker, who died in Oklahoma. Also, Maria Patton was married to Ephraim who died and then she married Elisaha in 1850.
Thank you for all your help with Find A Grave. I have been to Poplar Grove Cemetery a few years ago and if I had not known how big David Baker's gravemarker was I would not have found where he and Mahala are buried.
Blessings, Emily Morris

All I have is that a Suzanne Larmon is buried in that cemetery.
I will do the link. In the future, changes are requested by using the EDIT tab on the individual records. It creates an audit trail which can be helpful when tracking all this data.

thank you so much.
