Thank you so very much for taking the headstone photo and posting it on my aunt's and uncle's, (Laura and Mike Walsh), memorials today. The speed in which you did it was amazing! I live in Texas and will never to be able to visit their gravesites. I really appreciate your kindness!! God bless you and Merry Chistmas, Lou

|Paul Armstrong||RE: Armstrong/Hawthorne Connection|
My gggrandmother was Sarah Hawthorne Armstrong (13239137), who was Kedar's sister. She married John Armstrong in GA in 1818 and they moved to MS about 1835. One of their sons was named Kedar, also.
Another interesting sidenote: In the 1890's, my grandfather Paul Armstrong (1872-1907) went to Nashville to hear James Boardman Hawthorne preach, and wound up naming his oldest John Boardman Armstrong.

You are more than a little welcome :) My husband actually took the picture so I can't take credit for it all :D He was excited & it was his first one.. So it means a lot to us. Hope you don't mind if we drop off flowers when we go to visit other family members sometimes?

Thanks for the compliment and yes, it was in Italy - SEVERAL years ago. We don't really look that good any more. You look like you were vacationing, also, where were you on the California coast? We now live near the Gulf Coast. And yes, love Findagrave, hope you enjoy your work with the site. Thanks again, we all need compliments! Bobbye Varner

Your welcome. I was just going long with the Oakwood Cemetery book. I hope the records are correct. If not, Paula (Greenwood photo volunteer) and I will track down your Hawthorne family.

You're welcome. I am sorry I didn't notice until after the fact that you had another photo request in the same cemetery for George Hamrick. Do you know if his grave would be in the same area as the Hawthorne's? If so, it would be easy to find, and I would be happy to go and get a photo of his grave.

|Sylvia Lacy King||Hawthorne Family|
We believe my 2X greatgrandfather Jeptha Jefferson Deens, b. 1820, Conecuh County, AL to be the son of Sarah Hawthorne and Ransom L. Deens. We believe Sarah to be the daughter of Sarah Ann Regan and Joshua Hawthorne.
Jeptha married Mary Amanda McIntyre and his sister Sophronia married John McIntyre in Conecuh. Both families later came to Texas.
Documentation has been hard to find. Burned courthouses, darn Sherman ;).

Paul, I corrected the name on Luvisa Gowens, memorial page and am going to transfer all that family to you since you are related. I only do this for a hobby and am pleased when I can assist someone with their geneology efforts.
