|John Kelly||W. R. Lewis update|
I am W.R. Lewis's great grandson and was glad to finally locate William Richard Lincoln Lewis' in McNairy County. Family information showed that he was born in 1867 and died in 1908 (my grandmother was 5 years old and never new him very well).
I also linked him to his wife (Eugenia) who is buried in Pine Bluff, Arkansas where the family moved after his death.
If you have any questions, please contact me directly.

|Gary Matthews||Matthews Family|
I believe you have had some contact with my older brother Philip Matthews. My name is Gary Matthews. I live in Glen Burnie Md. and my father was Benjamin Franklin Matthews from Castalia.NC. John E. Matthews born in 1813 was my great,great,great grandfather. In 1967 when I was 10 years old my father took me to Castalia to visit his brother "Doodle". He had just gotten indoor plumbing. On this visit I was taken to the Matthews homestead which was not far from Doodle's home and I saw the graveyard and a house that was falling down and deserted. At the time the graveyard was covered in weeds and in poor shape. My thanks to whomever saw to it to save this memorial. I was also shown the last of one of the brothers tobacco barns(either Clyde or Clarence I cannot remember) but to this day I vividly remember it. I would love to one day visit the gravesite and some of my relatives that I have had no contact for so long. Arthur Matthews, my father's brother, lived 2 doors down from us in Maryland for many years. They seem to be 2 of the few that actually left North Carolina. Thanks again for all the hard work you have put into this. My email is Megmatt91@aol.com.

Hi Trey! Starting about two years ago, Pineview only had about 3,000 on the public domain. I look on Pineview as an Historical site for the City of Rocky Mount. One of my goals was to get it on the public domain. It's caused quite an interest. I'm approaching 7,000 entries for the site and the other contributors have doubled to 6,000. AS you can see on my homepage I'm not doing transfers. If you do virtuals you can put her on your wife's family line. I hope that will suffice until 12/ 2014. I should be reaching that particular goal by then; please remind me and I can transfer. Bill

|Philip Matthews47||Matthews relative?|
My name is Philip Wayne Matthews, b.1/2/1947. Son of Benjamin Franklin Matthews b. 1912, d.1971. My wife Alide and I have 4 children. Two girls from her previous marriage and two boys from our marriage. Philip Wayne Jr. b.8/8/1976 and Christopher Thomas b. 1/9/1979. We are native Marylanders all born in or around Baltimore.
I have been negligent over the years in exploring my roots, especially on my fathers side. I last visited the family in Nash County in the early 1960's. I would very much like to learn more about the Matthews family and even make some visits. Can you advise on how to best accomplish this.
I assume that we are related. If so, how?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

I am very interested in any information you have on your Sykes line. My father was a Sykes too, and it's very difficult to find any information past my paternal Great-Grandparents. We are from Wayne County, NC. My email is email@example.com. Please contact me if you even THINK you may have some obscure piece of information that may even remotely connect our families. Thanks for your time!

|Betty Sanders||Luling City Cemetery|
So sorry I cannot fulfill your request because the last time I was in Luling I found that there are about 2000 burials and there is no or little record of who is buried where. Unless a person could describe how to get to a specific grave I don't know any to locate a grave.
I would like to find a way to put some pressure on the City of Luling to encourage them in solving this problem. There is no reason that a group there could't raise the awareness of the deficit and arrive at a solution.
Wonder if the Boy Scouts or some group of volunteers could have this as one of their community projects???? I would help,

Would you have any other information on Robert Pullen. I'm trying to find him in the Masonic cemetery but nothing so far.
I found census records for him. I though I might be able to find the graves of one of his wifes but nothing so far. Not even his step children.

|Ruth Dowdy-McArthur||Genes Family Memorials at Hillside|
I posted several memorials this evening for the Genes family at the Hillside Cemetery, all of whom are related to the memorials for John Washington Smith and his wife, Mary Catherine Leviner Smith and their daughter Martha Jane Smith Genes.
I wanted to let you know that these all relate to Mary Ann Fry Genes, who is the daughter of David Lawrence Fry and his wife, Annie Burns Dowdy. I am a Dowdy family historian and wanted to get this family tracked down to link them together. The only problem is that I can't seem to locate Mary Ann Fry Genes. She died in June 1989 but her husband had died in 1963 and so she could have re-married. I have not been able to locate any records that would document that, however. If you ever find a burial location for her, please let me know.
Thanks very much.

|Arthur Quick||research in Nash county|
Hi Trey, I found your name listed as a researcher on a Nash county associated website. I am researching my Batchelor lineage . I'm descended from Samuel Batchelor , son of Stephen Batchelor. I'm in the process of applying for membership in the SAR thru Samuel and although there is a wealth of information on the Batchelor family , I'm finding it difficult to find solid documentation that meets SAR standards. Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm also a member of Find A Grave and you can also contact me at DQ@peoplepc.com. Thanks, Dan Quick. My name at Find A Grave is Arthur Quick.

|Mike Ohio||Wolcotts in Strong's Ridge Cem.|
I accidentally send the previous message before I added anything except the Subject. Not sure how I managed to do that?
I have uploaded photos and information as per your requests for the following Wolcotts: Nancy, Thomas, Mary 1832-1864.
However, the other Mary A. Wolcott's dates on the same monument are 1864-1864. The request you made has the date of birth as 1832. Not sure if she is the correct one. If she is, I have photos I can upload for her. Apparently, she must be a child who died under a year old. She is the only other Mary A. Wolcott listed in the Cemetery Records.
I also made monuments and uploaded photos and information for the others who are interred in the same plot: John W. Wolcott 1852-1852 and William T. Wolcott 1854-1854. Apparently, these are additional children who died during their first year. If you would like me to transfer them to you I will be glad to.

|Flo ||RE: Louisa Marshbourne Abernathy Bass|
I found my copy of the Louisa M.Bass death certificate in my box of death certificates. I should be more organized! Marshborne is not on the death certicate.Her name is given as Louisa M. Bass. I have searched through copies of old deeds, etc., and her name is either listed as Louisa M. Bass or L.M. Bass. So, we have a mystery. My middle name is Minerva. After decades memories fade, but I believe I was told that I was named for Louisa Minerva Bass and, another great grandmother, Minerva Ann Parker Jenkins.
I stopped by the Sam Bass cemetery on Monday. Someone has cleaned it up, cut large trees, vines, etc. Also, a new gravemarker for Frances "Fannie" Edwards Bass, my grandfather's first wife.

Louisa Marshbourne Abernathy Bass, (1-27-1859 to 2-16-1916). I, for some reason, thought her middle name was Minerva. Where did you find the Marshbourne info?
