|Anonymous||Request for photo of Nathaniel Wise Stone|
In 2011, my wife with me tagging along, photographed all the markers in the Americus Cemetery for the Flint Hills Genealogical Society. No photograph for Nathaniel Wise not his wife appeared in the photographs we took. Their names did not appear among the list of names we had for interments in the Americus Cemetery.
Think we could have well overlooked the marker of one or both, I checked the Emporia today to see if there was any record of Nathaniel Wise and his wife.
First, checked the Tombstone Inscriptions for Lyon County, Volume 9 (Americus Cemetery) done by the D.A.R. in or about 1950 (Volume was published February 1951). Nathaniel Wise and his wife names do not appear in the records.
Next checked the index of obituaries for the Emporia Gazette (the local paper). I found the obits for Nathaniel Wise and Kerrenhappuch McDill Wise, his wife.
I got the microfiche film and read the obits. Nathaniel's information appears in the 13 Oct 1913 and 14 Oct 1913 edition of the Gazette. Kerrenhappuch Mc Dill Wise obit is in the 28 Sept. 1915 and 30 Sept 1915 of the Gazette. Both obits state they are interred in the Americus Cemetery.
From the obits on both, I'm surprise there is no memorial stone for either since the D.A.R. did not document the inscription and I could find no other record of their burial including my wife's photographs.
There is a link to the Americus Cemetery from the Flint Hills Genealogical Society website if you wish to look:
If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know.

|Kira McFadden||RE: Edmond's Son|
Yes, I am directly related to Earl Leroy (his great-grand daughter through Clarence DJ McFadden).
Here is the URL to Edward: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=40785348
And Edmond, Earl's father:
I have no information other than that; we've lost a lot of records, and are looking into a claim that an Angus McFadden/McFaddin from Scotland is the patriarch of our line, but I've yet to discover any relation.
It's nice to meet you--thank you for putting this page together!

One of Edmond's sons was Earl Leroy McFadden, who in turn was Clarence DJ McFadden's son. Both of these men, and their spouses and children, are on this Website.

Hi Sharon. Could you please photograph the headstone of Athanasios Stefopoulos at Rose City Cemetery at Portland, Oregon? Thank you .
Added by M on Oct 19, 2014 12:48 AM
Hi Sharon, I found a marker for Orville Pershins within the cemetery. I've unfortunately lost the grave marker photos a took when my computer crashed a while back, but I know there are findagravers actively reading the cemetery and adding photos daily. Perhaps you could place a photo request, if you have not already done so. Take care.

I am going to try to get a few rubbings from some of the stones that have a faint trace of script still left. If I find anything with the Gerkey Family name on it, I will let you know.
You wouldn't happen to know what part of the cemetery the child is buried in, would you?
Also, there is a Brethren Church just up the road from the cemetery. They might have good enough records to get us close to the right spot.
Overall, the cemetery is in remarkably good shape, at least compared to other cemeteries of that age that I have seen. Still, there are several family plots where all of the stones have been worn completely blank from time.
If you are able to get any more information about Infant Gerkey, I will be happy to continue the search.

I tried to find Rachel Butcher today at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills but was not able to find a #3304. The lowest 3300 number I could find at 3352 then 3299 - could not find anything between those two numbers.

Apparently there is a miscommunication. According to the City Clerk of Delta, there is no headstone for Ida, and no record of a spouse or infant son buried next to her.
I apologize if I wasn't clear in my message to you.
Soli Deo Gloria

I must tell you. The records are mixed for South Pleasant View, Pleasant View, and Mount Olivet in Kewanee Illinois. I just went by what I could find in the records stating his burial location. All three cemeteries border each other. Someone with direct knowledge of the family that lives in the area maybe be able to help find other records. I suggest you call the Kewanee, Illinois library and ask if they can check the records again. Include South Pleasant View Cemetery in the search, both (SPV & PV) have a plot numbered 1671. My notes indicate I only checked Pleasant View and stopped when I found him recorded, but records are sometimes wrong. Good Luck.

So glad you are happy with the photo. Just to the right of him is another Vanzile. The name looks like Alvetta. I wonder if that might be your other request but name is a little different. Do you want me to add to your request or make up a new memorial? Barb

Mine too - Hamilton County. Check the Virtual for "All The Mac's". I'll delete the original request for John. I should be going over to Fairhaven tomorrow. Also, thanks for checking for his location - it is much appreciated!

Per memorial # 63023116 I was wondering where you received your bio information from for Rolla Huffman. He was my grandfather and I happened to stumble onto this site after spending time on Ancestory.com as I was trying to gather info on his fathers father Daniel Huffman. Thanks for your efforts.

|David||RE: Elizabeth Vanzile|
This is the only Elizabeth Vanzile in the Robinson Chapel Cemetery according to the D.A.R. Records for Allen County, IN. The other picture as included as the original headstone contained the inscription of all three names as I indicated on the caption for Elizabeth's photo.
I do not maintain this memorial but will request the manager to remove the second photo and to inform her of the discrepancy with regards to the birth and death dates.
