Grave Transfer Request
Hi, I sent you a request via E-mail, but wanted to cover all my bases in case the E-mail hit the Spam bucket. I would like to know if you would consider transferring the memorial for Margaret J. Meanor (#47666459) to me. She is my gr-gr-aunt. My Find-a-grave number is #46961583. If you are also a family member or just want to keep control of the memorial yourself, would you be willing to add information and links that would connect her to her family? I can provide a lot of information. Thank you!!

Barker Cemetery, Mud, Lincoln County WV
Hi, I see you have posted some images of headstones from this cemetery. Have you actually been there? If so, could you tell me if this is a kept up cemetery or is it overgrown? Also do you think all of the graves are recorded here? Thanks.

Melissa, Thanks for the reply. Could you give me the name of the contributor you helped? Perhaps I can find an email address for him and ask what sections he covered.

Birmingham Cemetery on Findagrave
Hello Melissa, I have some photos from this cemetery I would like to add but it appears you have added quite a few pictures already. Did you take photos in just one section of the cemetery and, if so do you recall which section it was?
Thanks for your help,
Nancy Long

RE: Drake family
I have an account on Ancestry, but have never posted a family tree on there yet. I use it mainly for research. I have seen many trees with errors that I want to be really sure about mine before I post it.

Sorry, I reread your messages and you stated they were your grandparents also. I missed that when I read that before. I'd be happy to share information on the family with you if you email me. Thanks again, Rick

RE: cemetery name
Thanks for responding back, I understand being busy. I'm sorry for the duplicate. I posted it before I found yours and then realized you had posted him buried in Cumberland. I actually intended to delete mine after his cemetery was corrected. I'll delete mine. I just wanted him listed in the correct cemetery. The cemetery confusion is a problem. The confusion comes because the Cumberland Church was moved from its location next to the original Cumberland cemetery in Hebbardsville, less than a couple miles away, to the current location years ago. The Cumberland name stayed with the church for a while before being changed to Alexander. Causing confusion for people when they talk about the cemetery. The old part behind the church was called Union Cemetery. My father's family grew up in a house that used to sit on the current site of the Alexander Cemetery. I still live near the cemetery and have been to Alexander/Union and the old Cumberland. What would be nice if there was a way to make a notation stating the confusion. I would really like to compare notes on our ancestors. I have some information also on the Drake side. I'm glad they are your relatives also. Richard Drake is my 3rd great grandfather. His daughter Mary Drake married Israel Crossen. If Mary and Israel are not your grandparents would you be willing to transfer them? They are my 2nd great grandparents. My email is Thanks for all the memorials.

Findagrave memorial 87511667
Findagrave . . .
Your memorial For Nellie Ann Campbell Estep has a couple of errors. Nellie was a sister to my Great Grandfather so I am sure of her parentage. She was the daughter of Merriman Louis Campbell and Martha Sarver. Your entry has R M Campbell as her father. He was actually a brother. And Martha's surname is spelled incorrectly. I know the info came from her death certificate but we know those older ones can often contain erroneous information. In addition, if you can provide directions to this cemetery, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for what you are doing for others on Findagrave and for making these minor corrections. I also left this info as an edit . . .

Jack Matthews
My name is John W.(Jack) Matthews.
Frederich Wilhelm Hilf was my step-dad. My mother and I moved to the house at 258 Southern Av, in Mt. Washington, Pittsburgh in 1945. I'm looking for my father, William James Matthews, whom I have not seen since 1946. He and my mother, Florence Mary (Link) Matthews, were married in Wellsburg, WV in 1941. Apparently he drank a lot and my mother took me and we moved in with Mr. Hilf. I think he had advertised for a live-in housekeeper/bookkeeper. We moved from Pgh to Parsons, WV in 1953. Mr. Hilf and my mom were married in 1953. He had bought a hardware store. We moved to Mannington, WV in 1956 after he bought another hardware store. We were at the county fair in 1956 when he had a heart attack and he passed at Fairmont General Hospital in August 1956. My mother was sooo closed mouth about my family that I've had to rely on my memory for the info that I have. I'm interested in any recollections that anyone would have about this time period. I'd like to know if I have any other family (sibling, aunts, uncles etc.) I have found my dad's family somewhat, 2 brothers and a sister, John, Thomas and Emma. Emma has been the key. She married a man named Daniel J. Syboda.
But I'm running on. Can you give me any help?

Jack Matthews
