RE: Jared Curtis
I see that about Maine... but it also says Cortland, which is in NY, not Maine... I can't find any Cortland in Maine (town or county)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_towns_in_Maine

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_counties_in_Maine

Check Jared's 1860 Federal Census. You'll find an Abigail Shed in the household, age 70. That's just the right age to be his mother, mother-in-law, or an aunt -- had you checked that angle yet? Pair that with the 1860 census stating Edward's birth place as Massachusetts, there are a couple Abilgails of that age with connection to that state. I've started looking, but haven't tied things together yet!

I see though that Sarah Ann's father was from Massachusetts, so maybe she went there to give birth(?).

FUN!!!

You're welcome to try "Port Allegany" along with my given name and surname to see if that works. However, I don't use Facebook much!

(I tried to email you -- found out why you didn't email me, LOL)

You are very welcome. Sorry there was no marker. Unfortunately there are a lot of empty marker graves in that section.

Jared Curtis
Hi Frances,

We're distant relatives. Jared had a younger brother, James Roswell Curtis, who is my GG Grandfather. Here is his findagrave link:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=143468022

I would love to hear from you. I'm on Ancestry and WikiTree, and of course, on Facebook if any of them would help us connect.

RE: Mathews
You are very welcome. This cemetery is about one or two miles from Athens Memory Gardens so I decided to check the cemetery. I also found a Frank and Bessie Matthews in Alexander Cemetery that I was wondering if they would be Harold's parents. No memorials have been made for them yet. If they are his parents and you would like to make memorials I will add the photo. If you don't believe they are his parents than I will make a memorial later. Thanks

Hi Could you please remove the photo you added to Ella's memorial? It is the wrong headstone. Thank you #79920275

Beth Thorpe Butler Pursell
Fraces, could you possibly work with Judy Lu to merge the following two memorials? Her marker uses Butler from 1st husband and her obituary uses Pursell from 2nd husband.

Francis: You are very welcome. I intend to go back to the cemetery on a better day (I was in the rain & cold) and hope to get a better/cleaner picture. The tombstone, as you can see, will eventually fall over as it's leaning badly.

Mike Simmons
Rineharts
I believe that I saw on one of the Rinehart memorials a note from you that indicated that you are descended from that line. If memory serves me correctly, it seems that we share a common Grandfather in George Rinehart who's wife was Alice Philena Coe Rinehart.
Peace,
Mike Simmons,
Centerburg, Ohio.

June Buckskin
Hello Frances,

I've found your photo for June Buckskin on Find A Grave, Memorial #92051113. She was my Aunt, and I would love to be able to use the photo on her page in my family files on Ancestry.com. I'd like your permission to do that, but if not, I do completely understand, and thank you for posting it anyway.

She married my Uncle, Jim Trivelli/Buckskin, and lived in Palisade, NV most of their lives. She was a WW I Army field nurse during the war, and her house was always spick and span!

Thank you,
Linda Newbrough

Hello,
I am just curious if you are related to Edward Shannon (Find A Grave Memorial# 92050959).
He was my grandfather and I am trying to locate information about him.
Thanks!
Shanna

Donna Brummett
M. Richard Waite
Guess we are cousins because Richard is my 9 great uncle. Anyway the grave stone posed on his Find A Grave memorial states he died at the age of 84. The date you have posted as his birth date is the date of his Christening in Rigsby-With-Ailby, Lincolnshire English. Just thought you would like to know. You might want to make a note of this on the memorial. Thanks

Hi, you posted the picture for John Wearne in Cherry Creek, NV. I know it was a while ago, but do you happen to remember if the other sides of the headstone are blank or not?
