RE: Adams Cemetery
Carol = I would appreciate a copy of that listing if it is possible. I don't live too far from Adams and there some stones standing, some are broken, and some are partially buried. That list could possibly be of great assistance in locating actual grave sites to determine proper placement of stones that can be found.

RE: Adams Cemetery
know how this feels as when I go to cemeteries that are need of maintenance it is so depressing. But short of trying to get a group of volunteers to take on this project, there is not an individual can do. It would be nice if state legislatures would pass a tax to fund projects such as this but in todays economic times, I don't see this happening in the near future.

RE: Obituary
You're very welcome. I was tickled it contained so much family info., so many are only one or two lines long with nothing in them. That was interesting about Henry Clay Thruston. Thanks, I like learning things like that!

RE: Emma Thruston Harris
This was my first time at this cemetery. There is an older section inside of a 3 foot high stone fence, I would guess about 100 foot square. Many of the stones in that section are broken and repaired using metal braces. This headstone is right across the road east of that older section. I would estimate the total cemetery to be over 5000 markers.

Emma Emily Harris
Hello, we just added a photo to Emma Harris. The Birth date is off by one year exactly but the death date is the same. And it says her name was Emily not Emma. Please let me know if you agree this is the right stone, or I will remove. OZARKCHERYL

William C Thruston married Ann E Kritser circa 1876, together they had, Mary M, George K, James E, and Helen. Ann and her 4 children are all buried in Mount Washington Cemetery in Jackson Co MO. I cannot find any info on Anna b 1854 or Rosa b 1859, but as you know Emily "Emma" and Young Beverly are buried in Brooking. Next time I go to Brooking I will ask the guys in the office about Tennessee and Wm C. He is not buried in Mt Washington with Ann, so I assume he was buried next to his first wife in Brooking. William C Thruston is listed in the Kansas City Directory in 1899, and in the 1900 census Ann is a widow, so he died late 1899, or early 1900.
hope this helps.

Samuel R Shepard
Hi Carol, I simply added the photo for Samuel R Shepard which I found in the Bolivar Cemetery. "Bolivar Cemetery" created the memorial and wrote "No marker. Died in Tennessee." Perhaps you can contact "Bolivar Cemetery" with your questions.

RE: Lilly Thruston Flanery
Greetings Carroll,
I found a "Lillie Flanery" in the records. She was interned August 23, 1943. Her final resting place is in Section 8, Lot 7, Space 12.
In my research I also found the Jackson County, Missouri marriage license for William V. Flanery, age 22 to Lillie Thruston, age 17 on August 1, 1883 in Cass County, Missouri.
Find A Grave Memorial# 74064693.

RE: Sarah Gradick Thurston
Carrol, I will make another visit there but as I remember when I accepted this opportunity at an earlier time I checked the listed graves next to her and positively identified them correctly. However, hers was the next grave prior to the outside fence and there was no cement marker or anything. I will let you know who is buried next to her but I don't think it's who's listed in the book.

RE: Donna Knudson grave
I just added another photo of all 3 graves as an overview. Donna Knudson is above Blanche Allen. Clark Allen is to the right of Blanche.

The cemetery is very well kept -- with views of the mountains and the St. Joe River. There are numerous trees throughout the cemetery --

Hope this helps!

Sorry Carol, I put the memorials up from online records since nobody else had done them on Findagrave. Since then there has been tremendous interest in the cemeteries in that area. I live in Kansas. Click on some of the memorials with photos because there are folks in the area doing photos.

RE: Joseph Harris grave
Hello Carol-

You are welcome -- sorry I couldn't help with an actual picture of a headstone. I grew up in Manassa and it is a shame how the old cemetery has not been cared for over the years. Take care and please let me know if I can help with anything else in the area!

RE: Charles V. Hartley
You'welcome, Carol. I asked the cemetery about Elizabeth Hartley--they have no record for her. Also, I did not find her in the State of AZ database for births/deaths--other than appearing on Charles' death cert as his mother.
