Hi Leslie,

I am researching the McFarland line, and came across your memorial for James McFarland and Dicy McFarland who are my several Great grandparents.

I noticed you are also researching the same line. I would LOVE to exchange family info with you.

I have been researching for over 40 years (MY FAMILIES on BOTH sides of my family only.)

If we can exchange family info, and later on if you are willing, maybe you will consider transferring James & Dicy to me.

In the 1860 Wilson Co. TN Census, he is living with James Hamilton and his wife Jane R McFarland and family. It also shows Dicy McFarland and Amanda are also living with the same family.

I cannot go back any further to find M D L McFarland. With the help of other sources and death certs & Birth certs I managed to document almost all my family info. I am also in the midst of making a INDEX of all my surnames, McFarland, Hamilton, Earnest, Hugley, Wright and Burnett are the ones on my fathers father's side of the family.

I hope we can be a benefit to each other, and hope to hear from you soon. My email is

Thank you so much for the photo.
Were there any other engraved markers in the cemetery?
Are you adding a map or do you have driving directions to the cemetery?
Many Thanks!

I'll keep her if you're not directly related. Maybe a direct relative will show up. But, if you change your mind and really want her, let me know.

Lewis Patterson
Thank you for the transfer of Lewis Patterson. I love the picture of the cemetery and can just thank of them looking at those beautiful Tennessee hills. I will maintain the memorials with honor, and hope someday I will be able to stand and look at those hills. I like you love to walk cemeteries and help people find their families. Again Thank You.

Martha Patterson
Thank you so much for the transfer of Martha Patterson. I am both honored and humbled to maintain her memorial. Their daughter Martha Elvira married Charlie Rice Puckett, my Ggrand-daddy was their 13th child, Finas Edgar, that moved to Kentucky. I now need to get busy linking more family to them. Again I thank you for your unselfish transfer, Christmas come early this year.

RE: Patterson Cemetery
I would be honored to have Lewis and Martha Patterson and son Joseph Patterson, but they are more than the four generation rule and you do not have many memorials. I do love the picture, I can just see them sitting on their porch looking out at those beautiful Tennessee hills. If you are sure you want to transfer I would do the edit button and ask, but I hate to, I would not ask if you had not offered.

Patterson Cemetery
Do you know who owned the property where this Patterson Cemetery is located??? Lewis Patterson and wife Martha are my I think 6 Ggrandparents. I love the picture looking out onto the Tennessee Hills. Just wonder if they lived there.

Sallie Williamson Blair
Could you please tell me where you got her middle name as America? I have seen her middle initial as "A" but, so far, haven't seen her full middle name given. I know sometimes we know things - or are told things - about family that just aren't written out anywhere so not disagreeing with you - just curious.

One other thing - I had Dorothy Jackson Blair attached to Sallie and Edgar as their child but when I got your edit suggestion that somehow led me to look closer and realize that Dorothy couldn't have been their child. She was born March 5, 1903 and her death certificate supports that - giving her age as 7 months when she died. Sallie and Edgar had a son born October 31, 1902 - a little over 4 months before Dorothy was born - and he has a birth record. I "think" Dorothy was the child of John William and Myra (Jackson) Blair but need to look into it further.

I feel stupid when I find I made a mistake like that - especially since it was so obviously wrong. Anyway, I've fixed it on Find a Grave. Since you have an interest in Sallie's family thought I'd let you know I'd made that mistake.

I don't know her but in a coversation with another lady on here I think she is from Kentucky and she might be related to the Hawkins Co. Tn. group. Alot of folks thinks that group ties back to my group in Virginia. Good hearing from you.
