RE: Johan Wilhem Scheid
The before and after comparison of the stone is pretty stunning. Someone is doing a great job at Hunt's Corners!

Hi again Brenda, might be good idea to cross-reference the names of cemetery. I see now on the map that Whittlesey Road turns into name of Shaw Mill Road. And if death certs give Shaw Mill's Cemetery as name, people won't find the cemetery listing easily. what do you think?

Jacobsburg Cemetery
I meant to ask if you might know if was also called Shaw Mills Cemetery as was indicated on both Frederick and Mary's death certificates. I see it was also known as Rice Cemetery. ?? thanks.

Mary Jane Detrick Widdel
She is his 3rd or 4th wife. Might be worth noting that her maiden name is also found spelled Dietrich on some records. thanks for linking Frederick to his parents. I've submitted a photo request for his father to see how name is spelled on stone. That was a very fast edit & link. lots of people never fill SAC's. much appreciated! I love 'reuniting' families!

Townships in Michigan
Brenda, I tried sending you a message through Harry E. Walker's memorial, but it didn't go through, so I'm writing to your public e-mail. I looked up California, Kinderhook, and Montgomery, Michigan, through Wikipedia. California and Kinderhook are townships, with no incoporated municipalities in them. That's why I didn't recognize the names. Montgomery is a very small town in Hillsdale County, with only 342 people (as of 2010 census. I hope this helps you in your research. Thanks for getting back to me. This has helped me learn a little bit more geography of the state where my husband was born, lived, and died in. Pat

RE: spangler
That is freaky!!! I would have looked at that & thought-Why is aunt Marianne spelling her name different? LOL!!! Sorry bout that!!

Boy oh boy, I used to think that the Klingshirn's were to blame for some of our looks, now I know it was the Ensmans!! My mom's mom was Agnes Ensman Klingshirn, Ray's Aunt. Ray & my uncles Don & Bob, both deceased, could have passed for brothers!!

Sure I'll take the transfer, I'm just beginning to put together my Ensman line in findagrave!

Thanks so much for your time & if you come across any more pics, let me know!!

Brenda, Thank you for Rubarb's transfer, and I apologize for omitting his wife, Minnie's number, which is above. Would it be possible for you to transfer her to me as well? Do I have anyone in my listings I can transfer to you in return? Thanks again. Kathy

AND there are still many "unknowns" that are hard (or impossible) to read. I'm still hopeful that the historical society may be able to help. . . .

RE: johann
Yes, I can read the name, the word "gest." and the word "Alter," but I can't make out any of the dates. If it is John and Mary's father, then the date of death would be December 4, 1873, and age 41 years, 1 month and 28 days.

Based on the name alone, I think there is a good chance that he is the father (particularly if the graves are together), but I would really need to see the dates to be absolutely confident.

For what it is worth, we are also missing the mother/wife of this group, Sophia.

I leave it to you, if you want to make the links.

Thanks for your help!
