William Speer - Find A Grave Memorial# 6693519
I was wondering if you would mind sharing the picture of William Speer. He is the brother of my direct ancestor Benjamin Speer.

I do not have alot of info on Spicy,alot of what I have came from another researcher. My grandmother lived in Cumberland County as Nora Smith her mother was Spicy Scott who's mother was Mary Spears and then her mother Spicy which is the Spicy I believe you are referring to. I have not been able to prove or disprove this is the same Spicy that married John Mc clusky. Eventhou if my memory serves right I did find similiarities in the census . If you have any info it would be appreciated. My dad loves to hear any info I have. I do not have full access to ancestory right now, so my research has been put on hold

Richard, no problem with the photo of Wint & Julia Coop. Do not delete it please. My father, Winfrey Jay Coop, was Mattie's youngest brother. We just lost him in Nov. 2011. I recognized the photo because I had seen it before. I need to go through the photos I brought home when my father passed away to see if he had that photo. Hopefully, I will find it there.

Richard, I walked the Bluff Cr. Cemetery today & did not find stones for Harvey & Bernice. Still have a lot of snow, if they have a flat stone I may have missed them, but I don't think that I did. I will try and check again when the snow is all gone. Lanny

I know what you mean. When I do a memorial, I try to do family links; even go to Ancestry.com and find info. It irks me to try to get contributors to add info and they ignore it. Findagrave has made it easier since Ancestry took control of it but they seem to mostly add the dates I send, not the family links that I edit.

I've about decided that what they are doing is when they find out someone dies they do a partial memorial without listing where the person is buried and then when they find out, they finish the memorial and release it and their number is first. I check the cemetery before I do a memorial to make sure someone else has not done one. Then I have gotten to where I check afterwards because sometimes two of us are doing them at the same time. They let me know that I had one memorial that someone else had done. I deleted mine and checked and found out they had done one too. I let them know the other person had done hers first. The last time I looked both memorials were still on there. I'd really like to know who they are.

|Eric Taylor||Harrison Paul Hoots|
Thanks for all the work you do on Find a Grave. Just an FYI, you have the month of death for Harrison Paul Hoots, here:
listed as June, but the headstone in the photo shows July. The headstone might be incorrect, but I wanted to let you know, just in case. Thanks!

Thank you for the information on her. I wish that funeral home had a website so a real obituary would be listed.

|Jana Burns||RE: ARMS|
You are very welcome. I photographed and entered that cemetery because it is close to my house and I thought it would be easier for me to do it, not because I have any family there. Let me know if there are any more that you want me to transfer and I will gladly do it. Have a blessed day.

I am so glad I found this site. George Polk was my great-great grandmother Queen Emily's brother and as I am researching my family history I hadn't found anything on George yet. Thank you

|Betty Busick Lewis||Riddle and Austin|
Grandma Ella Riddle Anderson's mother was Mary Austin Riddle. Mary's mother was Eliza Austin and father I believe was Joseph Harrison Austin. Do you know anything about them. I believe Mary was an only child. Joseph Austin passed by 1883 and Mary was born in 1875. I only know of Mary (Margaret). Grandma's father Richard 'Alton' Riddle, and Richard Alton and Mary both passed close together - not sure how, maybe the influenza epidemic. Mary's mother Eliza lived with them and passed close to them also - so Grandma and some of the others were raised by family till on their own. Would you have any pictures? Do you know who Richard Alton Riddle's parents were?
I believe Joseph H. Austin was from Tennessee and was married and had other children before marrying Eliza and having Mary.
I would appreciate anything you think of.
